I was in a similar boat. Using an Android phone for a few days made me miss iOS - even with all its issues - like someone on a desert island would miss _________ (whatever they'd miss).
The ONE feature that is annoying as hell on the iPhone compared to Android is file management and bluetooth sharing. If you don't have a wifi network, then you have to download a 3rd party app to share files via bluetooth, which is 1000 times easier on Android since there is a built in file navigator and native bluetooth sharing.

Plus the dude is flat-out wrong -- iPhone 7 has a headphone jack. It just happens to not be a century-old port and uses a newer digital port.
Just like the fiberoptic digital audio is considered a headphone jack, right :p

Who the hell makes this Phone? Never heard of them lol but they mock apple lol
^^ This was my favorite post of the day.
1) The poster professes his/her ignorance about a company.
2) The poster then mocks that company's actions, for which he/she just professed to know nothing about.

That is a good price point. I heart my apple products, but the slated 1k iPhone is steep. Missing those days...

Samsung did make a faux pas with the loss of their IR blaster on the S6. Bad move. Otherwise they've put common sense before course. So far at least. But a TV remote on your phone is/was cool and a mistake to drop.

Wont comment on the jack removal but the phone looks like a direct iPhone ripoff. Prepare for a punitive suit in 3-2-1

All I want is headphones that have more than 2 channels, and be able to do something like a pseudo-surround sound system.

For that the 3.5mm jack is obsolete.

actually, anything mixed in surround (5.1, 7.1, or Atmos 5.1.2+,...) can be (fairly) easily encoded to binaural- surround for two ears, and it sounds fairly convincing as well.

And for 7.1 AC3 (or even 8ch uncompressed ADAT!). 3.5mm optical jack (like it was in old macbooks) is enough as well, all while retaining backward compatibility...

example for binaural:

Now don't get me wrong, I appluaded the exclusion of headphone jack, but I can't help finding myself being irritated now when I try to plug somwhere and frantically look for that damn adapter.

Wonderful idea, but two major problems:
- it should be implemented across their whole lineup AT ONCE
- they should bundle a bluetooth 3.5mm dongle AND Airpods with it

Wow, I wouldn't be mocking Apple if my product aped pretty much all of the iPhone's design...

They should be saying, "We couldn't really come up with our own unique design, so we stole yours. Thanks!"

Legitimately thought this was another iPhone mockup. What genius thought hey let's mock the iPhone in the same sentence we announce our iPhone copycat. Did they learn nothing from Microsoft's numerous attempts to troll Apple?

Android is a very solid platform now with the new multicore processors. Its like iOS on steroids with some very slick quality of life improvements. If you haven't tried a flagship android now really is the time.
I don't doubt that Android is very solid. I just don't like the approach to usability. I have tried the most recent Android flavors and it's just not my thing. It's not iOS good, Android bad. More like iOS is more of what I want to interact with over Android.

=Oddly enough, I wouldn't want to be seen using that knock-off in public. Jokes on them though, because no one outside the tech community knows of this company.
Actually, OnePlus beat Apple in India last quarter (~18% market share compared to Apple's ~15% in the $400+ smartphone segment). They are owned by BKK, a large Chinese consumer electronics company that also sells phones under the Oppo and Vivo brands. It's one of a number of emerging brands that sell premium phones for much lower prices than the estabished companies. I think companies like this one will put a lot of pressure on Apple and Samsung.

At least they didn't clone the OS like Oppo did with their R9 running ColorOS.

We all know what happened to Note 7. They too made fun of iPhone 7's missing headphone jack during their keynote.

The Verge called it "a slightly smaller iPhone 7 Plus that runs Android."
", at a largely rectified price."
Here, The Verge, I just fixed the logic in your sentence. You selectively missed the most important part of the sentence.

Yes, that was the ONE THING they didn't blatantly copy.

And adopting USB-C, and a much more reasonable price.

In sum, it is an iPhone 7 Plus with all of the 3 main errors fixed.

Was that post title entirely impartial? o_O

That aside, do we think Apple will sue over this design? It's so clearly a straight up copy paste job. Makes OnePlus look pretty cheap, just like Samsung.

What a dirty company. Pathetic, really almost scum-like. Never understood the hype surrounding them; they just churn out cheap garbage & amp up the exclusivity hype.

Oddly enough, I wouldn't want to be seen using that knock-off in public. Jokes on them though, because no one outside the tech community knows of this company.

Abandoning the port is only the first step to getting the masses on board; it has to start somewhere. It's a step into the future; and that then snowballs which results in better connectivity and longer battery life in the ears (or years) to come. It's a shame that narrow minded folks can't see it.

Have you actually used one of their phones or are you just winging this?

I want to buy this because the inside ports match the outside of the device. #SMH

I still find it shocking how similar the rear design is to the iPhone 7.

Yes, I've seen companies have their phone designs inspired by other companies, such as Apple, but this is a nearly identical copy.

I wonder if Apple will do something about it.
The back is totally different. It doesn't have an Apple logo.

Why can't the presenters of cheap knock-offs speak proper English? It can't be that hard to find one native English speaker in all of China. With this accent I instantly get the impression of an inferior product.

Why "China"? It's not a company from China, he's not a man from China, either.

I like headphone jacks too, however I like good sounding audio better, so using my Audioquest Dragonfly with £180 IEM's on the iPhone 7 is the best of both worlds.

I have a few external DACs myself, and occasionally I use them with my iPhone, and also Bluetooth headphones, which is what I use most of the time with my iPhone, but occasionally, I really do just value the convenience of the headphone jack (without carrying a dongle accessory), and I'm dreading the upgrade, which is inevitable since iOS 10 is already sometimes sluggish on this iPhone 6s Plus.

I'm not usually one to jump alover the "OMG COPYCATS!" train because I find that 99% of that claim is just mindless trolling.

But...

Holy moley, especially from the back. That is shameless. it's as bad as HTC's recent copies.

what a dissapointment. I really liked what OnePlus had done in the past

After being stuck in a airport for 6 hours last week it was so nice to charge phone and listen to my headphones simultaneously. (Binge watching Sopranos). Equally nice was boarding my flight with 100% charge while listening to those with jackless/dongleless iPhone owners complain to loved ones before taking off that their battery is dead. I really hope Airlines don't start removing headset jacks.

I don't care how great iPhone is or becomes I will never buy a phone without jack. One Plus 5 looks like a nice phone for half the price.

I bet Jony Ive will take hostages at OnePlus headquarters.
