people are aware of the up coming refreshment for sure, and just being killed by the unknown release date:)

In Italy a big tecnology chain store (Mediaworld) is now offering white macbooks for 799€ (1.175$, the normal price at Apple Store is 1.396,5$)....new Macbooks are coming....

Maybe, maybe not.

The JB HiFi chain stores here in New Zealand have just sent out their monthly catalogues and the MacBook PRO 13" price has dropped by another NZ$50 since last month's catalogue (making it NZ$100 cheaper than Apple's online store).

Interstingly, although it is usually there, this latest catalogue doesn't have the iMac listed at all (it does still have the white MacBook).

Hi guys:

A few minutes ago I went to the store to check if anything had changed, and I saw this:

applestore.jpg

When I clicked the "Select" button it just gave me some error gobbletygook, so I hit back in my browser and did a grab.

Surely I'm not crazy?
We wish.

I also think that the new macs/ updates coming out next tuesday, because the google ads in the nederlands came out on the 3rd. They only missed a 1 at registration. Thats the only possible explanation of the appearing of these adds 10 days before. The 23rd is not a explanation because its no tuesday;-)

Is there a chance that we could see the new Macs online tomorrow? If Apple stores have been getting shipments, then it MUST be soon! :D

I guess not, since its now tomorrow... so to speak.

Has Apple ever released anything on a Friday?
If not, guess we have to wait for next Monday (10/12) or Tuesday (10/13) for new hardware.

Someone posted on 123MacMini.com that they went in to an Apple Store to buy a Mac Mini and was told to wait until next week when the new models would be out. So I guess it's going to be next Tuesday.

re taking clues from shipping dates--

I had put a Mac Mini into my Apple shopping cart about a week or several back, and note that, as of today (Wed 10/07, 5pm), it is displaying that there will be a delay of "Ships: 3-5 business days".

That is a longer delay than what I noticed last week, when it showed 1-3 days delay, and certainly longer than the usual of 'ships within 24 hours'.
Add that together with the current (now "previous"?) Mac Mini SKU being discontinued.

So I guess maybe...

(Wednesday + (3 to 5 business days), carry the one, check the clouds and weather...)

Next week sometime for new machines - Maybe Tuesday as that seems a popular day for releases?

P.S. I hope they bump up the standard RAM of the base mini from the ridiculously meager 1GB currently, up to at least 2GB. Hoping they even make 4 GB the starting RAM point across the board, since all other Mac models currently start with at least 2 GB, and some (most) start with 4 GB.

Its got to be next week now.... then again we'll probably see 10.6.2 sometime next week as well providing all outstanding issues are squashed.

Invites could still go out today. Thats how they done it for last years event. The invites went out on the 9th of October (which is a Thursday) and the event was on the 14th of October.

Very likely that today will be the day.

Hello all,

Any guesses from you Mac-experts on how much faster the presumed new Macbook will be compared to current model? "thinner, lighter and stronger" really doesn't give out too much...

I'm a PC user, but currently considering to buy my first Mac for iPhone development. There would be a sale at a local department store for Macbook - 860 euros - only tomorrow... wondering if I should wait or not.

Still shipping within the next 24 hours both for iMac and Mac Mini in The Netherlands.
But that means nothing, maybe they just have more stock, but what I did see 1 week ago was that the Macbook was down by €100!
But that was not in an Apple store.
