Yes I could buy a few iMac's a year with the amount I pay in healthcare over the amount you pay. :eek:

Notice that it says "notebook event" on October 14 ... maybe that means iMacs are going to wait until November (or later) for their release event. :(

No, no - that the image capture from last years event. I was using it for exemplary purposes - pointing out the timing of the posting.
 
Since Columbus Day falls on a Monday, maybe Apple is going to have this year's event on Wednesday, October 14th. Just speculation...

Should the event be next week, then yes, the event will be Wednesday. This means invitations would go out tomorrow.

If not, then possibly Tuesday the 20th.

If neither is correct, then I have no clue.
 
I wonder if we could still see an invitation today/tonight? Maybe the invitations will get sent next week for an event the week after?
 
This years iPod invite was released during the same time and same day as last year

Why are we all checking this daily?

I just don't understand why we are all on here checking this daily... hourly for some of us :p

It is not like there is going to be a new game changing product that is going to be announced. It is just an iMac. Okay, okay... I admit, I am drooling over the possibilities of Blu-ray. And yes, I would love to see a matte screen. But why are we torturing ourselves?

Well whatever the reason, I will see you all tomorrow, when we cry together because the invitations have not been sent out yet. Until then.

I keep checking cause I have held off on upgrading my 17" core duo since April when the first rumors of price drops and upgraded units came out.

And now that I am doing a lot more photoshop work than I was back than, I would really, really love having a 24" screen to work on rather than this 17".
 
Crikey, waiting since April doesn't even bear thinking about.

There must be quite a few standard MacBooks available on the UK refurb store, they usually sell out within about 90 minutes at the £649 price-point, but they've been in stock for a couple of days now, so either everyone is holding off for a new model or they have loads of stock they want to shift ....

Besides. It's probably not going to happen. So go out and enjoy your Friday night. ;) And you may be pleasantly surprised when you get back.
 
Having seen the MS 'prototype' mice I reckon there'll be some kind of new keyboard/mouse thing. If so there will be an event, 'the reinvention of the input device' kind of thing. Plus new Imacs, macbooks and mac mini, it'll be big if there's all that going on.

I doubt it. They could have just released the new iPod Nano's online without an event with just an inclusion of a video camera and larger display ? But they held an event for it

Also, Steve Jobs at the end of the iPod event stated "We'll see you all soon"

haha little late on that prediction but yes...

FCC pictures of a new keyboard and mouse showed up last week? They were immediately pulled by Apple, but they are still up on this site.

Mouse is rumored to be multi-touch with the replacement of the ball with a multi-touch surface and the keyboard is anyones guess. The "pictures" (drawings really) showed the back and it was only marginally smaller...
