Online Ad Evidence of Imminent iMac, Mac Mini and MacBook Updates?

Apple never updates their store THIS early in the morning. From what I remember, it's usually something like 9-11 AM CT

you clearly don't remember the macbook updates in october a few years ago. Came out around 9am CT. It still might not happen today, but it's not definite.
 
Couldn't these guys just be giving discounts because they too heard the rumors and want to get rid of their stock?
 
Retailers typically don’t operate off of rumors. I am sure that Micro Center has certified Apple Sales Representatives that provides them with information! I don’t think a major retail chain would give 15% discounts based on rumors alone
 
I'm confident that we will see a Mac Mini, iMac and Macbook speed bumb in a few days or weeks. If there will be a event is another question. And one can always hope for an upgrade to Intel i7 but I'm not so sure that will happen either.

If the rumor is true I will buy a maxed out Mac Mini and add a Intel SSD, that will be my first Macintosh. Otherwise I will save my money for now, the current price-performance ratio just isn't worth the cost.

Ok, so where do we go from here?

Personally i would prefer quad core to being slimmer, i'm in the graphic design / movie editing business, it would be great to have a powerfull machine to take all the action that i need in Premiere, and making full size print jobs, and to have a lot...a lot of files open at the same time. But, if it slimmer i don't say no, my desktop is always a mess full of papers pen's pencil's the iphone a tablet, cup's...my god, if i hade something more elegant on top of it it would look nicer..or not lololol. So i say, quad core GO!!

Unless good ol' uncle Steve would devide the iMac line in, thinner + dual core and normal size + quad core...that would make sense, wouldn' it?

I agree that they HAVE to do quad core, but they could make it thinner and more rounded on the edges, yet leave it thicker in the middle to have more space for the CPU couldn't they? I have a current gen iMac and love it, but I can see a redesign of the case where they round and smooth the edges. If they switch to LED, doesn't that make it thinner to begin with, giving them more room all over and allowing them to taper the edges of the screen because it is thinner? With this year's model, they smoothed the edges of the stand and it looks better. Perhaps that is a foreshadowing.
 
All I know is Apple better hurry the fsck up and release something, so far all we've got is 48 pages of people blue balling. . . :p

forgot the LED, perhaps me and everyone else lol, that was a good new feature to put on the new iMacs :D

will it be?
 
i've read so much about this rumor of the new iMac that i started to believe it. i guess it's pointless at this point asking wich graphic card to choose, nVidia or ATI, since there's also many post's saying that nVidia as giving many problems and so ATI, and that nVidia will step out living only ATI...meehhh. gonna wait and see what turns up
 
just got done talking with Apple Chat. If the store was to be down today you would think they would know. Although I remember listening to many Macbreak Weekly's and stuff would come out AFTER they talked.

Anyway, the Apple rep said that the 2 weeks shipping time for the educational store is simply an error.

She said:

"It will leave Apple in 24 hours. We're working on fixing the shipping error you see of 2 weeks.

It's simply and error as it shows 24 hours in the regular store."

Really, it's been 9 days of it too. Worse then any relationship i've been in!

So I think we can put the "silent update" for today to bed and simply hope for an invitation before the end of business day Friday.

Surely someone knows someone who works for Best Buy who can gather some new model numbers????

How about some leaked photos? If not of the iMac or mini then surely of the new mouse and keyboard!

well many times the silent update is a lot later than now. Often it's like noon eastern time.

I'm waiting on this iMac for the life of me

A friend of mine who has an IT Business partnership with Apple was just in the store working on something with them and I asked him to Ask and they said there is still no launch date, but it seems as though it could be closer to Thanksgiving :(

I am trying to stay positive, but I don't think I can wait that long! If I at least wait until the end of the month to buy a new current iMAC, maybe something new would come out in my 2 week grace period lol.
 
That's BS as staff of stores even don't know the exact release date. They got informed 24h before (if ...).

Don't forget that Steve as been "fighting" for years, for leaked information.

In the old days that dind't served i'm very well.

probably people in the stores and such are payd just not to talk...or they're fired lololol
