I think it is slowly sinking in - NO UPDATES this year.

I will make a crazy prediction - and let this post stand as a record:

In 2010 Apple will be forced to diversify their product line.

We'll get the mid-tower. We'll get far more variety. It won't be Dell style plentitude, but it will be greater than today.

We already "know" Apple is planning to release the iTablet in 2010, so "diversifying their product line" is a given. :)

I don't normally join forums and guess I am referred to as a 'Lurker'

However, having been so impressed with the two iMACs and MBP at work, I have decided my 20 year reign with MS is close to an end. A work colleague suggested this forum as a place for good information, but I hadn't expected all the humour - a bonus. I've almost forgotten the reason I came here!! LOL

Unlike some of you guys, my next breath doesn't depend on an 'Event' (or non-event as the case may be) but hey, speculation is great. I will sit it out and wait for whatever comes and then make the decision. In the meantime I will continue to read and enjoy this lively and sometimes informative thread.

apologies if this has already been posted.

Yesterday the UK Apple store was 24 Shipping for mac mini's and iMacs. This morning both mac minis are 5days

No, it confirms my theory. Drastic price cuts (iPhone - how much was it when it first came out... and how much is it today... several hundred percent lower price) and lower end machines (MacBooks).

Lower prices. Everything moving to the lower end. More variety of product. Faster updates to keep product turnover fresh. Watch it happen. Observe. Then bow down to my insight. If I feel like it, I'll provide more.

HAHA! I school girl laugh.

In all seriousness. My mom might get one of the older gen iMacs when the refresh comes out. She doesn't need Quad Core and I just don't know how much better Quad Core is because I've never used it. But I will probably somehow get it before my mom replaces her soon to be new core 2 duo iMac.

It's the same in the Dutch Apple Store. In February the shortages were announced by Apple about 3 to 4 weeks before the refresh. So that means updates will come either next week or the week after that.

But I really believe Apple will do it next week, because then they can ride the Windows 7 wave. Think about it. An article is published about Windows 7 and then most journalists will add a few lines about the refreshed Apple line up, their new awesome multitouch mouse and of course Snow Leopard :)

Hi Pack-a-:apple:
Our next breath doesn't depend on the next big thing from our 'Deity'
however, you have to understand that this IS :apple: hardware we're talking about
and no company's hardware is as exciting as :apple:'s.
(Ferrari maybe?)
