Or something like a Gizmodo or Engadget post where they talk about an invitation received for apple for an upcoming event hehe :(

OMG, Someone could explain this people the diferences between hardware and software?

The Snow Leopard topic has no sense in a new hardware event

Software is like magic, you can't feel it and you can't really see it, but it does some cool stuff

That depends. If they are releasing hardware that requires the next revision of the OS to release then they certainly need to know that the software is ready.

Having said that, I don't think that in this case they are waiting for anything other than Jobs pre-defined schedule for releasing these products.

no new changes here. it's not going to happen today. Definitely not the rest of the week, too late in the week. If it doesn't happen Oct. 20/21, I don't think it will until after the holidays now.

Odd behavior of page

I go for the 20th,that would be smart as others have said, just before Winbloze 7 release.
I think its going to be bigger than expected, hopefully so cause its rather dull last few years,iPhone-iPhone-iPhone-iPhone-!!

I have also noticed that this thread seems to get confused about pages.

In Mac news, there is none.

Just seem this on a site good or bad news?

It’s midweek and featured Mac products include iMacs starting at $999 from the Apple Store, a 50%-off offer for iPhone accessories and a new round of App Store freebies, including RatMazing, a game of skill where you guide your rat through a maze using only your gentle influence (and a roomful of electric shocks.) site is cult of mac dot com

Quiet

Got to say,its fairly quiet last few hours on this topic.
Gotta be a lot of sad people finding out they have to wait yet another week:eek:
We just have to wait a bit longer to see all that wonderfull stuff coming out next week.

You only have yourself to blame for assuming way too much

i didn't really assume. I have been acting on the rumors...Now I think I might order the 2.93 C2D and then if new macs come by next week, then I'll just return it.

Is there a way around the 10% restocking fee in the retail stores? And, doesn't the online store have the same thing?

I think it's because posts have been deleted and the page indicators are based on the total number of posts including deleted ones.

I sold my iMac 20 inch 4 weeks ago went and got the 24 inch from best buy and after 13 days I went to bring it back thinking the new iMacs were coming out last week and paid 216$ in restocking fees. Bb sucks

What, another day with no updates? C'mon folks, it ain't happening! How many times must this be repeated: THERE ARE NO UPDATES. At best you'll get tiny speed bumps, but forget re-designed "thinner" frame, Ci5 or Ci7, LED screen and so on. There will be no invitations going out. There will be no event. There will be no new mouse. There will be no new keyboard. There will be nothing.

New updates will happen next year, period.

Also, what makes you think that just because Apple submits something to the FCC, they must immediately release it? You do realize, that there have been FCC submissions which never came to market, don't you? I'm not saying no new mouses and keyboards ever from Apple, but not anytime soon - you'll be lucky to see new ones next year, or 2011.

Relax and wait. Keep waiting - that's the natural condition of an Apple fan. Waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting.

no, but i assume that i'll order it and it won't come until next tuesday at the earliest...so by then i'd know if the new imacs are out. That way if new iMacs do come out I can just send it back without opening it for no restocking fee or anything.

it's not the FCC as much as the lack of stock of iMacs and Mac Mini's that is leading people to think there are new Macs on the horizon.

And what makes you sooooo sure????? If apple are going to release something then they will do it very close to the windows 7 launch just to try and dampen the release

This isn't exactly news, in fact, it's the opposite, but here it goes.

Just got back from the Apple store (I didn't buy cuz they wouldn't promise to waive the restocking fee). But, even though the guy specifically told me he hasn't heard anything about updates (the standard line), he did keep insisting that next week is earnings time. And as has been said before in this forum, Apple doesn't like releasing updates the week of earnings releases. That was his view, while maintaining the standard line that "no update has been announced" to the retail stores.

If, IF, it happens this year, it's going to be Nov. No matter how much we all care about Apple products, the 24 hour news cycle will focus on Win 7 release next week, not on a new iMac or Macbook.
