anyone got any good tips on how to exercise patience here?

Something that doesn't involve me coming to this thread or checking the Apple Store every 20 minutes throughout the entire day?!

What I do know is that I'm less tense then the last time the store went down and new iMacs we're introduced. But I guess it's because there aren't any crappy pictures of wat could be the new products :)

I'm really looking forward to it. Somewhere near the end of the year I'm buying an iMac anyways :)

love to hear some ideas- in the same boat...:(

I have to say this is all starting to make this feel more real. Wired also put out this article on Monday.

http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2009/10/macrumors/

It just makes you feel better when credible-well known sources put out the information even if it is still speculation. They clearly feel it to be true enough to publish it.

I think our prayers are going to be answered soon!

I'm new to this forum and have been watching this thred for the last few weeks waiting to buy a new iMac. One thing I have not seen mentioned that I have a question about is....Does Apple immediately sell the new product after they announce it or is their a lag time? If so, how long do things typically lag? Thanks

Do like me and just click your mouse together three times and say there's "no machine like a mac" You will then be taken to a magic place. Just don't do it naked in the Apple store.

I hope they are better for gaming. I hope Apple realises a lot of people care about that, so I hope that compared to this gen iMac's, it is like 1.5x better at gaming or whatever. Now I know Mac's aren't for gaming blah blah blah, but I'm sure more developers would release games when more people buy Mac's and Mac's get better hardware, and I would like to play games in Boot Camp maxed out. And plus there are some good Mac games, and if you could run it awesomely who cares if the Windows version runs with a few more frames?

Usually right after the announcement or 24 hours (logistical aspect, getting new inventory to retail stores etcc).

You could just check this macrumor forum :) And read on how other users are being killed by patience :) Or try to beat my Brain Tuner score of 12.1509 on 20 problems :p If you didn't already :p

The businessweek article points out that all the PC vendors are using W7 release to drop new hardware.

Will Apple repsond with 7 month old hardware at a lower price? That doesn't sound too exciting of a concept to market.

Macbook Pro ?

Ive got a MacBook Alu 13" 2Ghz 4GB.
I want to upgrade to the 2.66Ghz 15". Ive been watching this thread as I thought I might wait and see what the new iMac brings. However I am getting fed up waiting and I am realy after the laptop.

Ive not read any thing saying the MacBook Pro will get any speed bump or be cheaper. Do you guys think its safe for me to go buy as the cash is burning a hole in my pocket.

My existing one ill then flog off on ebay

MacBook Pro is safe to buy -- there won't be updates in near future.

If there was going to be an event, the invitation would have gone out already.

That isn't to say product updates can't be accomplished via a press release on Tuesday morning.

Naa, still a few minutes left :D . Engadget usually have the invites going up just after 12 noon.

AppleInsider just reported that people hoping to see bluray in iMacs are in for a treat - NOT.

Invites could go out as late as Friday. Additionally Apple Insider has published another update on iMac rumors. It seems they are coming very close to telling us what will actually happen but can't quite confirm it yet.

I'm Praying so. Who knows...Oct 27th could be the day since it's a bit farther from the Windows Release, but just close enough to still steal some attention. However, It seems like they are already doing so even before any sort of announcement. I think it's all part of the set up to release new product along with the new ad campaign. Would just make sense from a Marketing Perspective.

so you have been lurking around this thread just as I? I say we both get a life! haha

Do you ride bikes (in regards to your avatar)?

Yes, I am a rider, just sold my R1 actually due to me having neck problems, so no riding for quite a long while.
