Thought I'd post my experience...

Live chatted with Orange - they said call 150.

Called 150. Got straight through to an operator (didn't have to wait on hold ). They immediately knew what I was talking about and told me that orange don't have stock right now (blah blah insert ******** here blah blah), but if I called back on the 21st, they would definitely send me a nano sim (word for word. ish.).

Mixed feelings, cause this will mean we'll have to wait out the weekend without a nano sim.

Just spoke to t-mobile in carlisle UK and the manager said he has no communication from t-mobile re nano sims but he believes he will get them this friday. He would do a sim swap which would be chargeable. Hope that helps any t-mobile customers

Whether they care or not, Orange will lose my custom come December. I know the iPhone isnt out yet but the fact that every other major network has released nano sims and Orange/Tmobile havent says a lot.

Orange replied to one of my tweets slagging off their customer service. They said anything they or Orange Helpers can do. I said im just really disappointed with their know nothing stance on Nano Sims. I then asked do they realise the launch is this friday.

Seriously disappointing. The sandpaper has been bought today just in case.

Bit of an update:

@orangeuk on twitter are confirming to people that new and existing customers can obtain a Nano sim by calling 150 on Friday. Not great, but its something.

Rang orange again today, after being told by one advisor i could order one on the friday 21st ive now just been told they wont b available until at least october 5th...this is rubbish from orange.

@OrangeUK on twitter sent this to someone about 20 minutes ago:

Hi there, PAYG customers will be able to get nano-sims by Friday, we promise.

Taking it with a pinch of salt, but let's hope they're not telling porkies.

I'm so sick of Orange, this whole SIM fiasco is bad enough but I need to get my 4S unlocked so I can sell it to a friend and they're saying 28 days!!!

Yet I read comments from people on other networks that it only takes a couple of days.

Orange are totally useless. I'd like to be able to use my 5 when it arrives, however this isn't going to happen when CS are telling us so many different stories. I don't even expect to receive the phone this Friday.
Not good at all.

Vodafone did my iPhone 4 instantly. Got a text through straight away and they did it for free.

I didn't see this on Twitter. I just checked. Nothing.

Check the replies on Twitter, not just the tweets. Quite a few on there say Friday.

The still say they are "working" on it though, so I bet they are being told to say that. There might still be some better news tomorrow. That said, there might not. Can second guess until we go blue in the face :)

Orange replied to me on twitter saying we can get the nano sim on friday but they are working on this to get it sooner. Be patient guys! We don't even have the phone yet after all

Hey,
Not appreciating Orange at the moment, but loving this thread as we're all in it together... I'll post if I have any news, I've not had any luck with 150 in the past couple of days, neither with the Orange Store in Canary Wharf this evening "You can try calling 150 on Friday", They "dont' know" if they'll have spares in store on Friday - I can pop in but I've been warned they'll be busy... :-/

Anyway. In spite of my newbie status, I'm not new to the forum, just to posting. I've also gone through 3GS and iPhone 4 over the past couple of years but never without a SIM on reciept. Just in case Orange fail me completely. Would there be any harm in getting my 5 going and set up via WIFI & iCloud if I don't have the nano SIM before the weekend? or should I wait to set up with the SIM installed...? (a painful thought!)

Phoned Orange CS several times over weekend and Monday and got different answers every time. Final answer was that Orange stores will have the NANO SIMs on Friday.

Do we believe this? Could be I am going with 3 if they come up trumps with a NANO SIM before Friday.
