That picture rocks!

This is complete speculation, but a lot of UK stores have Apple Watch Basics workshops throughout the day on the 24th. Now that may just be optimistic on their part, or simply process driven by the booking system etc. But it could also give some credit to the idea at least that Apple are expecting some folks to receive pre-orders on the 24th or possibly even the 23rd in time for these sessions.

So perhaps the apple rep wasn't totally wrong. The anticipation is most enjoyable whichever way it swings. I've booked a PM basics workshop just for the fun of it!

Hi All.

Stoked to have preordered this thing.

Im lucky enough to have gotten a windfall courtesy of apple to enable me to buy the watch.

Paid for a MBP2011 repair 2 years ago and apple just launched a repair program for the issue, so refunded me the original cost of repair just in time for Apple watch :D

Funny thing is they actually replaced the 3 year old MBP 6 months later with a 2014 MBP at no cost as the problem arose 3 times in a row. All of this out of warranty!

Anyway...the watch. Im waiting with baited breath for a status update! Im getting sofa king nervous!!

My details:

Shipping to me in London
Apple delivery date : 24/4 - 5/8
Order confirmation 8:04am
Apple Watch Sport In Space Grey
Status - Procesing Order
Bank - Apple Giftcard - not yet charged

UK pre order thread has gone awfully quiet. Lets hope this changes soon! Even a charge to my debit card would be great to give me some hope that delivery isn't far away!

I mean technically even us 1st delivery bracket purchasers could still have to wait a further two weeks till the 8th of May which would really kill the excitement!

Agreed. If I don't see movement by the weekend my enthusiasm will diminish somewhat. By May 8th, I'd probably have stopped caring altogether.

Lets hope that's not the case!! To be honest I would settle for delivery next week providing that there was movement in the next few days and I can see when its actually going to ship.

Unfortunately I think delivery for Friday will be a long shot for a lot of us. Apple left it quite open giving a two week window especially as recent articles have suggested they have gone down the BTO route to reduce their capital expenditure!

I honestly don't think there's a reason to NOT be hopeful for Friday. Wild speculations and hunches aside, we do know that Apple had at least some stock, we also know they have said themselves that many orders will be fulfilled ahead of the end of the windows given and that they expect delivery to start on the 24th. Additionally to that we know lots of stores have workshops starting that day. Hell, I've booked one out of pure optimism.

Realistically the shipping status could change as late as Wed or Thurs and they could still have it at your door Friday morning as we simply don't have any facts on the distribution structure that can be relied on.

Until Thursday has come and gone without a change of status or card charge, I for one will hold to the opinion that they are aiming for Friday delivery for as many of wave one as is possible.

I am almost sure that there is a definite possibility that we may or may not receive our watches on Friday.

I think we are lucky in the UK for having a different charger packaged. Meanwhile, most of Europe and US are fighting over the exact same packages.

The way I see it is, a production would have been made specifically for the UK to make sure the correct charger & warranty info was put in the correct box etc.

I could be wrong, but I think if it's going by just us people in the first few minutes of the 24/04-08/05 bracket, we will see all our watches Friday.

Yeah I was thinking something similar.

The US and Europe use different chargers, so they are not fighting over the same package.

What we can say for certain is that the UK Watches will be packaged with a charger that is UK specific, meaning any stock produced for the UK will not be distributed elsewhere. With that said, we still don't know what sort of stock they produced in advance for the UK.

It's likely it would have all been based on population ratios and previous product popularity along with data like who favourited what that set any initial production volume prior to pre-orders. So that more or less puts us in the same boat as everyone else.

But Europe and the US are still bigger than the UK.

I think one reason Apple seem to have moved to a folding UK plug is that it brings the size down to something similar to the US and European 5w chargers. This will probably mean the boxes can be the same size in the different regions, with a different insert to hold the specific charger.

Yes I agree, the box profile is quite thin, therefore it seems highly likely the folding UK plug we have seen isn't a bespoke item for the celeb that received it from Apple, but in-fact the UK plug itself. Which would maintain the slimmer profile of the boxes we have seen to date and ensure uniform packaging (externally at least) globally.

Without measuring the boxes it's hard to tell is a standard (old school) UK adapter would fit.

Hong Kong uses UK charger as well.

I was under the impression that there's no wall charger in the box, just the usb charging cable, meaning the watches can go anywhere?..
