If I want to get AppleCare plus for my watch do I need to go to a store?

I think you need to go into store. Technically it's a kind of insurance product, and your Watch will need to be inspected before they add it. Similar to iPhone/iPad AppleCare Plus.

If it's anything like the iPhone / iPad you can purchase it over the phone and they run a remote diagnostic.

Wish I knew that before I trekked into store to add it to my newly delivered (at the time) 6+ :p

edit: you're right:
Important notes

Purchase AppleCare+ with your new Apple Watch. Or buy it within 60 days of your Apple Watch purchase:

At an Apple Retail Store (inspection of Apple Watch and proof of purchase are required)
OR call 0844 209 0611 or 0800 107 6285 (requires you to run a remote diagnostic and provide proof of purchase)

Long shot but did anyone in London get a 42 SS with BSB today and would rather have a 42 SG Sport?

Not many of those were delivered.

Lots of us were disappointed

I was an 08:04 confirmation and am still in "Processing Order"

So I think you would have to be very luck to find someone who got one of the few who is prepared to let it go.

My SG BSB is still processing, ordered 08:05...

East Midlands Airport is where Apple Watches are destined to land in the UK (other Apple products too) because it is close to UPS na UKMail's main hubs in Tamworth and takes the most freight out of any airport in the north of England.

A UPS flight from Philadelphia in the U.S landed around 8pm so fingers crossed this was full with lots of Apple Watches!!

Anyone wanting to see this can go here... http://uk.flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS237

EDIT: Further research on the page linked above shows that UPS237 is a two part flight which flies from Louisville to Philadelphia, then Philadelphia to East Midlands, then returning again in the same sequence. It's been doing the same thing since the 11th April.

Now correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Louisville the central hub for America, Apple wise? Plus the 11th April is when they started flying to East Midlands from Louisville so frequently, sounds about right to start moving Watches around?
Wouldn't newly produced watches be shipped directly from China rather than the U.S.?

I believe this is possible, however I think that Apple just hand over the watches to UPS in China and give them a destination and UPS get them there? Sending them through the U.S may be a quicker way to do this for UPS as I imagine they may have planes that share cargo amongst a range of companies not just Apple? It also means a plane can go out and take half a load of watches to the U.S and take the rest onto the UK while allowing them to fill the empty space on the plane with something else?

Just speculating, may be wrong however!

Good research/speculation & I hope you're right! Just hope my SG watch is on the next flight into the UK :-/

In here now (Dover street) as I didn't believe the last message about walk in, but it's true no appointment needed even tho I've got one for tomo.

They only have mil or white band in 42 left. Worst thing is NO MOrE STOCK OVER weekend!!!! So if I had waited I wouldn't have got anything!!!

Why set up appointments if they're doing walk ins!!!! More of a Joke than the whole thing!!!!

So they don't have any 38s at all left? I queued for HOURS there today and they wouldn't let us in :(

Edit: PS Fancy letting one of us have your Saturday appointment? :)

I was up at 7am and waiting in till 3pm for my watch. Went off to work annoyed that it hadn't arrived, turns out they came by at 4:30, doh.

Then disappointment turned to anger upon finding out that my perfect plan to go to the UPS depot on the way to Cheltenham tomorrow is foiled by the fact that, paradoxically, while they're open on Saturday, they don't actually allow you to pick packages up. Idiots.

i then turns out that my watch isn't in my nearest depot (Emerson's Green), rather the other side of Bristol in Avonmouth. Whoop, 15mins further. So it'll be a good hour and a half round trip to go get the watch on Monday morning before work. Grrrr.

Still pretty annoyed to have to wait till Monday for the watch I should have had today, but hey, bright side :)

You can add it by calling the Apple Store on the number on the website. You end up having to talk to several people, so it takes a good 15 minutes, but they will sell it to you.

I did exactly this yesterday and there was no need to run a diagnostic (perhaps because they knew it just out of the box?).

My classic strap doesn't sit flush with the actual watch  does anyone else have this with the classic buckle or any other strap for that matter?? (Image below)

Yes I noticed that too I have the 42mm ss Classic buckle also I worried how long strap will last.

Hi mate yes they did have the 38s left but as I wasn't buying didn't ask which ones, but over heard they didn't have many left.

Happy for someone to have my appointment but not sure if you can PM me as don't want my details sent publicly.

Thanks

I spoke to two people. It was someone from Sweeden who ended up setting it up.

Working near Lakeside today so will pop into the Apple Store and get AppleCare+ added. I also want to buy a Milanese loop band but don't think shops have any stock of new bands yet. And also want the iPhone 6 green apple case to match my  Watch!

I'm getting a white Apple case for my 6 plus today to match my strap. I currently have the pink Apple case so it will match my pink sports band when it arrives.

Right chaps. Positive thinking. Space grey sports watches are coming this week (pleeeeeeease in time for my birthday!!).

I'm picturing it on my wrist on Thursday

My birthday is tomorrow. Part of why I hoped for a launch day delivery. I can only hope that it can be considered a slightly late present and have it arrive this coming week.
