I'm quite optimistic about this week. There isn't that many :07-:59 orders compared to the :04 and think they'll get their watches this week.

@HarryT re the strength of the taptic, I think it depends what you're doing. I have three tiny kids, so I'm usually carrying at least one, or pushing a buggy or something. I found I was missing the taps, so I turned on the Prominent feature. It just gives you a big long buzz before the regular tap pattern. Works well.

I'm really enjoying my Watch. I keep thinking "ok time to use my Watch for a few minutes" and quickly realise that it's not a thing you go to without a reason. It pokes you when there's a reason to interact with it, and doing so is great.

I do hope that more app support arrives - getting notifications from Google Hangouts or IRCCloud and not being able to reply, is annoying!

Keep the faith, children of Francis. Not all of us who got our blessings, have abandoned you!

Mine 4 nothing :-(

That is so interesting to read! I mean, I never thought about the Watch as a device that you don't "play" with. I have been thinking that I would enjoy using it as a consumption device but you just hit the nail on the head, that isn't what its purpose is. It's there to alert you and be an aid when you need it to be. It works with your iPhone to make you day easier and not to sit on your wrist as an entertainment device.

Thanks for this...that's fantastic feedback on the device!

Yep you did! Perfect thanks!

Very early order there! You're number 2 on the spreadsheet!

Oooohhh!!! That's good to know!!! # yes even an apple rep said for the choice of watch mine was an early order which made me hesitant to cancel just to change band colour!

Here's a good article that supports it...

http://www.wired.com/2015/04/the-apple-watch/

The other quote I read (but now can't find) that hints at the watches role in the future, asks a simple question: how often do you use your iPhone as a phone? It's when you start down this road of thought that you can begin to perceive the watches potential...

Keep the faith watch disciples and praise be to Francis!

Oh, should have added that the remote camera view finder is pretty cool too!

Oh, and the level of customisation of the watch face is more than some reviews give it credit (with Apple promising more in future software updates)!

Praise be to Francis!

P.s. I'm a lefty!

Doh, I should have added one of my favourite features that I use when not (yet) in public, is the Siri dictation of text messages. Works really well and seems more accurate than on the phone. Another example of things just being made simpler.

HarryT it will be apps that just make things simpler that will be most appropriate for Apple Watch. The Internet Of Things will be a good test, e.g. controlling your lighting, heating etc.

Really nice article. I really do believe that I'll stop using my phone as much now because of this and it's also made me start looking at Passbook too which I've never done before (although struggling to find UK based apps is a challenge)

I'm a lefty as well so will be wearing it on my right wrist. How is it having the crown at the bottom? I presume you get used to it fairly quickly?

I'm right handed but have my crown bottom left and LOVE it! I had to really grab the whole watch firmly when it was on the right - this works better for me.

The taptic thing? LOVE IT also ... Always missing texts from hubby with my phone on silent but no more! (Unless it's my choice ;) )

All in all a brilliant first generation product. Everyone who's looked at it (they asked!) has loved it and loved how subtle and understated it is yet with so much inside.

I'm waiting on spotify app (although it controls spotify stuff just fine) but there's nothing else I'm missing at all. I did find myself wondering if a tiny flashlight thing could be useful (I use the one on my iPhone far more than I would have imagined pre-torch!)

Hang on, are you wearing it on your left wrist with it at the bottom? Thought that would be more awkward reaching across.

That was a bloody good read! I'm dying to get my watch now haha.

What are people's thoughts regarding tomorrow's bank holiday? Will Apple still be processing orders, or is it all on hold until Tuesday?

A few highlights from my first 4 days:
- it's subtle: the (naughty) taptic engine is a brilliant way to send notifications
- it's beautifully built and beautiful to look at
- the user interface is more intuitive than many reviews would have you believe
- getting notifications and sending iMessages over wifi (when not paired to phone on BT) is a great feature - I can see this being very useful around the house, i.e. you don't need to have your phone with you all the time
- turn by turn navigation is soooo cool - again the little taptic engine makes this work brilliantly
- raising your wrist to activate screen works 98% of the time (again, don't believe the poor reviews)
- 3rd party apps are a bit slower, but not a disaster and now developers have their hands on one, I think this will quickly improve
- the sports band is great and really comfortable
- glances is a neat feature - very simple and quick

Honestly not trying to rub it in, rather whet your appetite!

I'll second all of the above. After initial reviews painted a doom and gloom outlook on the watch, I was slightly sceptical despite knowing what magic Apple can usually muster.

After using it for a few days (42mm SS BCB) I can honestly say that most of the criticisms are complete non-issues. The only area I could say that needs clear improvement, is the speed at which glances load.

Now I'm waiting on a replacement and have heard nothing about shipping since I set up the return on the 25th.....

Same boat as you guys, no watch!

Which glances are you finding this on? The only one that is a bit slower than I'd like (recognising most are pulling data from your phone) is maps, which obviously needs location data too. Oh, and Dark Sky (which needs both), but I expect this will improve once the developers have played with a real watch now.

Personally I think... The Apple elves will keep making them, the UPS planes will keep flying them, they'll have a 'little' bit more stock for Tuesday, and Tuesday will be a good day for people changing Order Status, to Preparing To Dispatch :)

I hope you're right!

Agreed. Doesn't the bank holiday only apply to the UK

I've ordered 42mm classic buckle on the 13 of April. No movement!!!
Any one ordered the same?

Yep this is what I think too!

Shipments will still be arriving in the UK and all will still be held at the Syncreon depot up north. Come tuesday morning they will start shipping via UPS and UKMail at which point we will have 3-4 days worth of watches to deliver. My hope is that most of the first hour of orders will be fulfilled on Tuesday with a lot getting charged and preparing to dispatch.
