OS X Lion to Hit UK Mac App Store at 1AM Tonight

Hi Steve,
I am now bored to tears of reading news feed after news feed and forum articles full of clowns claiming to know the exact date of the Lion release.
In fact i find it pathetic they cant just shut up and wait like most of us.
Now i am a little bit pissed off with reading it can you confirm if the latest rumour of a 1AM UK time on 14/07/2011 is correct for the release? - I want to know whether or not to stay awake and have a can of beer of whether i should go to bed as the bastards lied to me.
Either way - would appreciate a response.

God I hate these rumours, part of me wants to now stay up, the more sensible side of me says, wait til the morning as even if it is released at 1am, it's going to take a while to download.
Apple normally does things on schedule (like 9AM local time), but it is conceivable that they will release this at an odd time. Since it will be a madhouse download attack the moment this thing is given the green light, Apple might want to release in the evening (US time) when only some of us are paying attention to help spread the strain on their servers. By the time the rest of the Apple Universe checks in the following day, a whole lot of us would have already upgraded. If that happens a lot of you Aussies will beat some Yanks to the punch.
Just watch the Man Utd game which starts at 1230am, then you won't feel so sad staying up to check the app store (at least that's MY excuse)!!
That would be amazing! That's midnight for me, which means I can start the download and wake up when it's done

I had considered paying the £57 for a mac dev account. Sayin as it's just round the corner I'll wait. If I'm gonna spend £57, it'll be on an iOS dev account.
Update: obviously I'd be planning on doing some developing! Not just getting the beta!

My thoughts too. Perhaps they're releasing at midnight in each time zone - to spread the load on the data centre - starting with Zulu/GMT/UTC

That's not true, therefore it had to be released already in the countries east of europe, because it is already the 14.07 there.
