my UPS status is 'out for delivery' and now I can't stop looking out of the window for the UPS van! This whole MBP ordering experience is driving me insane! LITERALLY!

My baby has arrived!!!

My mbp just got in! So happy as a little kid on xmas eve :)

Ordered on the 26th, original deliver date was the 10th or 11th, so it's here a week early!

After many months of waiting I can't believe I'm typing on it right now...

Good luck to all you guys still waiting for yours!

The MBP I ordered on the 14th appears to now be within 20 miles of my house. If it fails make the rest of the journey by the end of today I think I will collapse in a dejected, sobbing heap.

It`d better bloody work.

Just wondering if anybody else is in a similar situation as me: (primary those who have ordered a CTO (custom configuration)

It has to be said that I didn't order it directly through Apple's online store, but through a 3rd party Apple reseller. The estimated delivery date was from 3rd - 4th May, which is today. That's what the order status says at Apple's online store, but the problem is it haven't shipped yet.

I called my Apple reseller, and they tell me Apple has problems with deliver 15" and 17" CTO machines to customers.

Has anybody else than me heard the same?

When did you order it and where is it shipping to?
Did you order anything else with it?

I ordered it April 16th, and it's shipping to Copenhagen. I didn't order anything else. The estimated shipping was 7 business days.
I ordered on the same day and mine should be with me sometime today (hopefully). My delay is primarily because of Iceland and me ordering other stuff.

There are a few on here recently from Denmark who ordered about the same time as yourself where some have either got their MBPs or are about to. Ask your reseller what exactly is happening (as much as they can find out). If there are any delays they should at least have a more up to date estimated delivery date for you. DO NOT buy the delay is 'due to parts shortage' or any other excuse. If I were you, I would try and get the reseller to make more of an effort to chase this up or expedite this order and keep you updated.

Also, Apple's definition of 'shipping date' is when it leaves their premises. They don't actually say when you will get it when you make the order. Absolute pain!

Thanks, I will try call them again tomorrow and ask to see if I can get them to chase this up. I will post a message with the result in this forum as soon i've talked to them. Actually, the imployee i spoke with said that the delay could be caused by 'due to parts shortage'. :D - tomorrow i'll just say 'yeah, right!'

I was wondering at first why this thread is still active. Would have been horrible if some MBs still were stuck in Shanghai. ;)

Mine has changed slightly again,

Estimated Delivery Date (Subject to change) - 15 May 2010
Current Delivery Status - In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule - 07 May 2010

[Yesterday it said shipment on schedule 06 May 2010]

Would be lovely if it arrived this week, don't see it happening though.

I'm considering ordering a stock 17" MacBook Pro but with anti-glare.

Will the shipping time be significantly increased? I ask because I'm going on a trip in about ~35 days and obviously want the computer to be with me.

Any thoughts on this? I definitely want the anti-glare, but am not sure how long it will take.

ordered weds 26th through work: 3 x MBP 2.53ghz i5, hi res matte screen, 7200rpm drive and mini displayport to vga and to dvi adaptors

it's now 'prepared for shipment' with an estimated delivery date of 6th-11th may... i'm guessing it'll be more like the 11th than the 6th if it hasn't shipped yet! that's another week!

cheers

It looks like the shipping times can be very different from one person to another. There are some pple who ordered on the 13th April and still don't have it. I ordered one on the 13th, got it, returned it and I should get soon (hopefully tomorrow) another one. CTO.

35 days should be fine, though I would not rely on it if it's something very important for your trip.

Well, it is very important to be honest. I've noticed that most of people having issues are the ones who ordered the i7 processor, but that just maybe me.

In all honestly, its about ~40 days, but you get my drift. The Apple Store do have the 17" Matte on display so I would imagine its not that hard to obtain them. I would go and pick it up from there, but I'm also eligible for a student discount (£300 off!), so would REALLY prefer the online Apple Store in the UK.

Is it possible to cancel a order if its not shipped to me and I'm about to leave?

Couple of observations concerning delivery times.

Based on purely observing what people tell about the delivery times, it would appear that in some cases orders from the education store or some resellers get lower priority.

Also, ordering any extra items or peripherals (AppleCare, adapters, remote, printer), may slow down the order. Peripherals ship from different location in most cases and will be merged to the laptop delivery somewhere along the way.

While all the items may be readily available now, that may not be the case when the laptop is being shipped. In these cases the entire order waits for the missing items. Also the merging of the items may result in day or so longer delivery time, even if all the items are available.

You can probably pick up the peripherals etc. from local reseller at roughly equivalent price, or place a separate order for them.

In most cases the delivery times stated from the on-line store appear to be accurate within day or two.

Yes you can cancel it online. I'm not sure if the deadline is "Prepared for shipment" or "shipped".

But if you say 40 days it really should be fine. If I was you I would go for it.

My MBP finally shipped, I ordered with with AC and a Printer though so gonna take a while I bet.

Does anyone know who Kuhne and Nagel Spedition are? Apparently they are shipping my MBP but I have never heard of them

How long after shipping did you guys get location updates on the shipment? Mines still blank :(
