have you called them to see if theres a problem? that seems a little exessive now thats its been over a week.. (just)

Hehe, yes... There is no problem besides a bigass ash cloud blocking all flights into Cologne airport. Most of the people here are in the same boat as me, heck all our MBPs are most likely on the same pallet in a UPS warehouse in Shanghai...

sorry - i should have been clearer.. I meant.. how come other people have seen that its "shipped" ie stuck in Shanghai, while you havent...

If a plane with our machines on board took off - shouldn't we get a notice in the UPS tracking system?

It does say its shipped on Apple's site... It has a 'departure scan' and then the 'natural disaster' tag on the UPS tracker... Latest entry on my tracking was apparently when the customs papers got sent to Cologne on saturday. I dont think there is anything to worry about, many people have received the same scans as me, ill try to be patient and im pretty sure it will turn up sooner or later, hopefully sooner ;)

ah ok sorry. I was talking about a 15", and about "prepared for shipment" -> "shipped".

fair enough..

urrg. this is why I hate ordering anything online.. and why having an Amazon Prime account is actually worth the money!

I hit the trigger last week, I move house on the 28th so now need to contact Apple to change shipping address. I don't mind waiting :) But my Intel 160gb SSD does need a new home soon.

cool. So it's maybe the previous flight which arrived from China that continues to Cologne ? Again, a lot of speculation but that's what keeps our hopes, doesn't it :)

Looking up and down the arrival lists it looks like the flight may have come from Budapest, hence the first sighting

way to go... just smashed my hopes ;)

Honestly. I believe its in UPS's own interest to empty up their depot in China. It propably cost them quiet a lot of money to rent extra space.

I think the contingency is that our MacBooks are flown into Turkey and follow ground routes from there. It will take 3 days to reach Germany. Since they are using non UPS locations we probably won't get detailed tracking until they reach Germany.

Some UPS shipments to Europe have been routed to the airport in Madrid, Spain, which remains open, with the goods then being transported by truck. Some shipments from Asia are being sent to Istanbul, Turkey, whose airport also remains open. Source: http://www.ajc.com/business/delta-ups-bear-brunt-475044.html

Very interesting... well spotted

Yours shipped in 24hours? Really?..

This is the 13" we're talking about here...

My 13" shipped in 24hours too, but I have heard no news of it since. I guesstimate it hopefully should arrive by the end of the month, but as I ordered a free printer and applecare it may take a little longer as it needs to merge on transport.

Argh, I shouldn't have ordered a remote control at the same time as my 15" hires mbp, I think thats what's caused the delay!

I ordered mine about 1 hour after the store came back up and I don't even have tracking details yet:

In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly.

If a delivery takes an alternative route as we're hoping for right now, then it should show up in your tracking information "once the shipment has been scanned and sorted". (Ups Twitter)

Does that mean it should update on arrival or on departure? Arrival, right?
This laptop odyssey makes my brain spongy.
