In a similar boat to a few posters earlier - I am in Scotland, my last update on UPS was a departure scan at Koln yesterday morning so I am fairly sure it is in the UK now even though I haven't seen any arrival scan. Estimated delivery date is still the 26th, which seems doable.

These posts amuse me. Some of you are such prima-donnas. Maybe you weren't aware, but virtually all of European Airspace was closed for several days while a natural disaster occurred in Iceland.

Now... if UPS had sent planes up into the ash cloud and crashed, losing your MBP in the process, you'd have something to complain about. As it is, you have nothing, nothing at all to be complaining about. If you were so desperate to get the computer why didn't you just drive to your local store.

I understand the frustration... but to suggest it's so important as to stop you buying the product again, even if you love it... Ohh come on, it's just too much.
That's not the point!! The point is that after nearly 2 weeks we have NO idea whereabouts in the system our order is. As a Flight Engineer I understand completely the ash issue and the effects on aircraft engines. The closure of airspace is just one of those things BUT what is the use of being told that you can track your order and then get no information? Even Apple don't know where the merge in transit orders are and that is pretty poor. That is what we are complaining about!!!!

. Ohh come on, it's just too much.

Is it too much to ask Apple to provide us with tracking info as promised on their website?
Or to warn us that if we order more than one item we will get no tracking info and the "merge" will delay delivery by several days?

For the price Apple charge for their products (on average double what other brands charge), NO, I don't think it's asking "just too much".

respectfully, i think you're hanging out in the wrong thread. As far as I am aware, this is a safe haven for people in the same situation to vent frustrations without fear of recrimination. Sure, to the innocent bystander we may appear pre-madonna ish or quite sad, but hey, if it offends, then the internet is a pretty vast space and we don't 'need' to be on this thread.

Sorry, venting ended.

I for one, appreciate the support of all who have posted here.

I am sure I will love the MBP (at least I hope so, after all the grief).

The thing is, it's the first time I buy from Apple and it's been a bad experience. They don't give what they promise (tracking info for "merge" orders, fast delivery, etc..) even taking the volcano into account.

I will definitely be very cautious about ordering anything from Apple again...

PS: I would have driven to the local Apple store.... if it weren't 1500 km away!

Nice theory, but I'm also waiting for mine!

Proof please, or it's not true! Ohh, and you do know that your argument only applies to shipping right? I mean, if you ordered whatever you ordered and got it the very next day presumably you would be perfectly happy. So please prove that Apple charges, on average, double what others charge for shipping.

It hasn't. Those line items referring to Cologne are to do with import paperwork, not where your shipment has actually been.

WTF!!!?!?!?!?
Can anyone explain this to me? What is my MBP doing in Alaska?? It should be in SPAIN tomorrow!!!

Waiting is never fun but remember.

Some people wait 8 months for their newly ordered car;)

Exactly. I think we are all so accustomed to receiving goods the very next day that on the rare occasions that we don't it almost feels like the end of the world. Of course, it's just our own petty impatience.

I too wanted my MBP as soon as possible. Crikey, I even got stranded in Holland for nearly 2 weeks as a result of the volcano... but it's really not so important as to whine vehemently on an Internet forum. Frustrating? Yes, absolutely. But not the end of the world.

You are in the same boat as many, many others on this thread. Nothing to worry about.

Frustrating? Yes, absolutely. But not the end of the world.

That's absolutely right, many other laptop manufactures generally do offer goods delivered the very next day! (or, to be fair, 2 to 3 day delivery)

And of course it's not the end of the world!

I just that had the impression that Apple was a little more professional, that's all, especially considering that MBP's are not exactly the cheapest laptops ...

Judging by the number of posts in this thread (close to 2000), obviously this is beyond "a rare occasion". Especially when many who ordered on the first day (13th) do not even have their promised tracking info yet (2 weeks after the event!)

Maybe Apple is just getting too big...

I do believe that's the volcano fault, just look at what other people said about past orders. And after all UPS is the one to blame, not Apple.

mpkayeuk, I'm the same as you, basically timing and everything.
Out of interest is your delivery scheduled for tomorrow? as mine is... I've stayed on departure scan since yesterday 4:00am. Hmmm is it reasonable to think it will be delivered tomorrow?
