Maybe this is why Verizon changed the shipping date on my 6 Plus 128GB iPhone from "by 10/31" to "by 11/21". I ordered it on 10/16. This is the excuse they provided:

"Thank you for your recent order(s). Verizon has not received sufficient supply to ship your order on time."

Your insistence that this has to be a bug due to not terminating apps properly to free memory doesn't mean the large libraries aren't what triggers it!

Actually my point was Apple has no idea how many apps are currently installed on their phones. App library does not equal installed apps.

great, im always checking if my plus is bending, now I have to check this new thing.

iPhone 6 Plus rebooting loop, red screen.

128GB Plus - no problems here
Yes, when I've got my gold iPhone 6Plus 128 gb unlocked in September I did experience constant rebooting and red screen after restoring from the most recent backup of my previous iPhone 5S 64 GB via beta iTunes12.0.
I was unable to put this phone in recovery mode on my iMac 27" 2009, beta Yosemite OS X. After 7 unsuccessful attempts I've had to call Apple Care and ultimately I did talk to senior Apple software engineer for about 2 hours. He had basically to download and execute special diagnostic software on my iMac in order to make exact snapshot of my system. Then I've uploaded this information to specially provided link he gave me.He told me it will take at least 48 hours or more to analyze this file by Apple development team. I wasn't even able to turn it off no matter what I've tried. I thought I would have to spend time to go Apple store and replace it right away so frustrated I was.
Then, all of a sudden I've decided to put in recovery mode on my other computer MacPro 2008, OS X Mavericks, iTunes 11.1.1. Wow, there was immediate success-I was able to put my new phone in the recovery mode, then restored it to the factory default and this issue was completely resolved. I did another fresh backup of my old iPhone 5S to iMac 2009 and restored my new iPhone 6 Plus 128 gb to this backup on the same iMac 2009 with beta Yosemite and beta iTunes 12.0. Since then and till now I've never experienced any issues with everything, considering my staggering amount of applications(about 400) plus 10 gb audio files and about 20 gb of movies on my iPhone. Of course, I've shared my experience next day with aforementioned senior Apple engineer. I'm pretty sure now there was more software issue rather than hardware issue. I hope my story will help you to make a right decision if are in doubt whether to exchange it or not.:cool:

Ios failing and going back to the apple

I noted some points were hardware is blamed for iphone restarts. I have 8.1 installed in my iPad with retina display - 4 generation. Sometimes the display goes black and then I get the white apple for awhile and then a locked display or a black display goes to the locked display. Sometimes I see the message that my password is required due to the iPad being restarted. I have the 64gb version with about 27gb free. I have many apps. I haven't seen a boot loop but some similarity exists between what i experience and what I see in this forum. My problems did not occur with iOS 7. So, perhaps there is a problem not yet fixed with iOS 8.1.

I have a Gold 128 GB ATT version and thankfully I have not seen this issue.
Running the latest version of iOS 8.1

128GB 6+ here. no booting issue.

my only complaint is the poor default white balance on my camera. my wife's 6 has much better color...is this something i should take my phone into the genius bar for? when we take the exact same pics, her pics look a lot more natural with better white balance...i have to correct almost almost all my photos.

Launch Day iPhone 6 Plus, Silver, 64GB Verizon. I have experienced no SODs, blue, red or otherwise. I have however had issues with crashing but I blame that on the OS.

This is very troubling however considering my father has a 128GB iPhone 6 Plus on order. His ship date got bumped from 10/31 to 11/21 (ordered through Verizon). Maybe this has something to do with it?

Well known issue with iTunes beta, to developers anyway . The easy fix was to download and install the current Xcode then restart machine. Some threads here at the time.

No problem, this is fixable by software update. 8.1.1 will limit the usable storage space to 64 gigabytes. And everybody will be happy again.

Considered as a fabricated news. Typical.

Booting loot problem affects owners of any iDevice module who have a large amount of Apps installed on their device. At least one is reporting problem on an iPad Air 1st Gen.

This issue can be tracked back to iPad 4 128G + iOS 7 years ago in other forums worldwide; like all those who reports problem in the Apple official forum, they have more than 700+ Apps installed on their device. And this is why is issue is never getting noticed, until some Korean S company had big trouble with their SSD.

While the real reason is unknown, this issue is considered a symptom of iOS that will tend to be unstable with a large amount of Apps installed. It's also confirmed that the issue is NOT related to broken storage, as this problem can be duplicated on any device restoring with the identical backup data, reported by one user.

Apple had acknowledged this issue and provided direct support from an senior tech., but while the owner is asked to restore his device for the 21st trial, he refused to provide any further cooperation. Hard to blame him though.

I got a 128GB iPhone 6 last week, no problems like this so far for me, though I don't cram loads of apps on my phone.

Maybe you intelligent fellows can help me out. I think maybe I'm having this issue on my 16gb Plus.

Sometimes the phone (while being used) will just completely go black and then show the Apple logo and it shows the logo for roughly 9 seconds and I'm back into iOS.

The reason I never really looked into it because it restarts very quickly and on top of that all my existing apps are still open and I don't even have to use a pass code to unlock the phone like you'd normally have to do with when you turn it off.

What do you guys think? I just assumed it was a iOS issue but if it's hardware then yeah I'd like to know.

(have had it for about a month and it's happened about 15 times, but like i said, it happens quickly)

128GB Space Gray here. No issues. I've filled it to the brim. Hundreds of apps, music, and 1080p videos. Loving it.

I have a Verizon 128GB iPhone 6 and 6 Plus and fortunately don't have any issues with either one of them so far.

1. If this is a widespread issue, MacRumors would have hundreds of threads complaining that - especially when our members really like to complain about the smallest issues of every Apple device.

2. This is reported by a South Korean website. Hmmm.

Mine does it, BUT it only happens when the device dies from battery drain, and when I use a non-OEM charger. Once I plug in to the stock charger the boot loop stops. I have an iHome alarm clock that has a lightning connector, and it causes the boot loop every time the battery dies.

You guys realize that this rumor comes from an KOREAN source? Samsung's pants are on fire. A low company as such will do anything low to affect iPhone's sales.

It's just ridiculous that everything else equal, a larger storage will cause problems. (frankly, 128GB is not that large)

Mine 128gb iPhone 6+... Still around 60gb left.... So far no issues.... I'm experiencing some error in home search... ( not returning any result... )... My phone ruling iOS 8.1

That can be attributed to low memory. Or so it seems, because clearing apps from the app switcher always fixes that issue. Try it, see how it goes.

I suspect either low memory or an app that needs updating that causes springboard to crash. Maybe a test, starting with just the stock apps, and adding your apps one by one would help to troubleshoot the culprit.
