32 GB was already available back in 2009...
4 years later it sounds extremely small, especially for heavy user / pros
Pro iPhone users....LOL

----------

5S = Same old stuff. "Faster, Lighter, Better Camera" crap Apple have used since the iPhone 4.

The 5C seems to atleast be different from previous iPhone models rather than the the same product as always with some slight tweaks.

+ Apple's motto does seem to be "when out of ideas, release multiple colours"
iPhone 5C is the iPhone 5 in a plastic case - same product pretty much.

these better cost $99 unlocked. why would anybody pay more if you could get an iphone 5s for $199 subby. americans, anyway, haven't jumped to full price phones and these cheaps aren't going to help them anymore.
Not gonna be $99 unlocked. iPod Touch is $299. Expect the 5C to be $399 (16GB) unlocked.

If you really look at carrier subsidized price, it shouldn't be $399/$299. Subsidized amount is $450. If we're lucky, we may see $399 to start with no carrier subsidy at all. That way Apple can drive more people to its stores instead of the carriers.
My prediction is $449 unsubsidized for lowest option of iPhone 5c or free with contract.

If you are coorect, iPhone 5C for 450$

I would rather pickup an iPhone 5 for 550$ (hoping for 100$ price drop once 5S is set for $650), just for the premium feel.

I agree with your conclusion though its most likely between 400-450 in order to justify iPod Touch 5g.

No, Because I'm feeling the iPhone 5S or what ever they have up their sleeve is not going to have that larger screen as I want. That is the only thing I believe was wrong with the iPhone 5 last year. A four inch screen is not doing it for my big hands.

Yeah, I'd be willing to bet almost anything Apple is not going to make a bigger iPhone this year so if you can't wait then Android will give you what you need. I think Apple will make a bigger iPhone next year but not a huge one. I could see a 4.5 inch one. Just a hunch though.

Seriously, what's wrong with plastic? How did you guys have a phone before the iPhone, when every single phone was made of plastic? Plastic is a strong and flexible material that doesn't scratch, dent and break as easily as aluminium and glass do. It is also easier to mold into a curved shape so the phone has nice rounded edges. And it can be colored to any color without the paint scratching off. If you drop it, nothing will happen to it. Alu will scratch and dent, while glass will shatter into a million pieces.

I really do prefer the look of the iPhone 5C than the champagne 5S, for example.

And for those saying it's cheap: it's a smartphone. It's disposable. You'll have to bin it in 2-3 years as it won't be fast for anything, no apps will be compatible and it will be useless. Why make a phone out of super expensive materials when it will only last a couple of years by design?

First, Apple introduces us to the more affordable 5C. Then, the 5S. Finally (in my dreams), Apple introduces us to the new flagship model, the iPhone 6 with larger screen. The media present at the announcement go nuts. Tim Cook smiles, knowing everyone was caught off guard by the announcement. AAPL begins its climb to go knocking on Google stock's door, pre-orders go through the roof, it becomes the must have item of the season, some iPhone 5 owners cry that they can't upgrade until next year, other iPhone 5 owners say to hell with it and pre-order. Like a lot of other people ready to upgrade, I'm happy.
That would be so awesome. Sadly, without Steve, the likelyness of something like that is near zero. But, we still can dream, can't we?

Could this kill off the iPod Touch?

Yes and No. The iPod sales have been plummeting for a few years now and I certainly don't think this is going to help matters but on the other hand Apple could make the iPod touch more attractive if they wanted to. They could increase the storage and lower the price to make it more attractive and to finally give iPod classic users an upgrade path. I would be surprised if we don't get a 128GB version this time around.

They could even double the capacity and keep the same prices so we get a 64GB and 128GB model only. That would certainly differentiate it from the iPhone 5C if that topped out at 32GB.

Up the iPhone nano to 16GB and 32GB leaving the Shuffle with 8GB.

One thing I don't understand is when companies makes phones with different colours but leave the front portion black. Sony has done it with their Xperia line too, back being a gorgeous white and the front top and bottom black. Spoils the look IMHO. I'm not getting the 5C anyway, probably graphite/slate 5S for me :D

both the graphite and slate are "different colors" with a black front.. :p

For everyone who says the plastic is ugly...it's still prettier than your fugly otter box case!

hahaha, yeah, here is my lovely iPhone 5 that is so wonderful and sleek, and I've stuck it in a awful ugly case that doubles it's size

Hmm, a lot of elitist folk on this thread, proclaiming it's an awful phone, even though this would be Apple's THIRD plastic iPhone. And the previous two were sold as premium top end products... UNDER STEVE JOBS!

The 5C to me basically comes across as a iPod Touch with cellular capabilities. If the 5C comes in with 32GB and is sold at $350-$400 off contract...I'm getting one.

I miss Steve's taste.

I liked MacRumors better before the boards became a place for Android fans to hang out and slag Apple. I rarely tell someone to "get a life" but I think here it's appropriate. If you love Samsung phones, cool. Enjoy the heck out of them. I would suggest spending less energy hating things in general.

Oh, and I think the colorful 5C phones are cute and I'll bet they sell like crazy.

This is just getting too much, the leaks are like WTF, cos its cheap:confused:

then we dont get alot about the iPhone 5s specks
