I would buy Panther today from a dealer but Apple don't know if my powerbook is shipping with in preinstalled or whether its 10.2.7 but the offer for the upgrade.

I asked the guy just 5 minutes ago as to whether it comes with it and wanted to give him an order number to find out. He said wait for it to arrive and i said i want to buy it today but he said just wait and see if its preinstalled or got the offer.

Stupid just stupid. I could be getting on a bus right now to get it if they damn told me what is coming with the powerbook.

I have an ibook right now with me and would of liked to install it on this first.

RE: Apple UK yeah it sucks, infact everything about Apple sucks bar the product itself. I'm sick of their service but what can we do?

I have the idea that ALL NON-US CUSTOMERS should stop buying any of their products until they give us want we deserve just like the US customers. Half of Apple's profits come from outside the US so why not treat us the same. I bet they would if they found they were not making any money from us.

Making a list of reasonable demands:

1. A decent iPhoto service
2. At least "x" amount of Non US Apple stores.
3. Same product release schedules and availability.
4. Beter realistic pricing compared to US pricing.

If we could get enough mac users to do this they would have to meet those demnds, they are not impossible and all its does is provide a better service and its better for them because they have stores outside the US and better pricing. It can't hurt them either.

Stop buying their products, stay with what we have until they do something about it. Its been done before so why not again?

Hey guys! I live in london and i still haven't received the copy, i ordered it when they pratically announced it.

I rang up the apple store and asked them where was my copy of panther was and they swore at me and hung up. Not impressive huh?At least Microsoft doesn't do this! I needed it for my son's birthday which was yesterday.

Surely this could be a case worth bringing to the attention of the UK Trading Standards authorities?

The UK Apple Store STILL has the graphic promising delivery on the evening of 24th. Regardless of what they actually MEANT by this, it states quite clearly that delivery would be on 24th, and it wasn't and was never going to be.

They're also just about the only online retailer who doesn't specify, or at least give some indication of, delivery times for their products. They do quote shipping times but those are pretty worthless - if your new iBook, for example, took 3 days to ship and 14 days to deliver, which figure is more important?

I'm sufficiently pee'd off with this to make an official complaint - anyone care to add their voice?

As for future orders from Apple Store UK? If they can't specify a delivery time (at least an approx' one), I'll take my business elsewhere, simple as that.

MacPanda - did you get their name? Take that complaint to head office in UK, not back to the store.

As for the UK Apple Store... have you called today (saturday)? It's AN ANSWER MACHINE.

You can't even buy a Mac on a non weekday in office hours. This is perhaps why no one really bothers and gets PC that advertise everywhere here.

What a f***ing joke Apple UK are. I'm gonna get my stuff in the US from now on, as I've rarely had good dealer experience here in the UK either. No one can be bothered to sell macs here. It explains a lot.

Actually they r open today - because i called them up - don't press 2 at the main menu - just press option 1 as if u r a business user and u will eventually speak to someone - i think there is only 1 person working there today. Cos when i rang back i got through to the same man who swore at me. :(

Yes, I pressed 2 first, then redialed and pressed 1.

I got a tone, then 'please press 1 to leave a message.'

Tried again and got the same message. Useless.

To be honest, it's not even as if Apple's products are currently up to scratch either.

Perfect example is the 15" AL Book. White spots on the screen and a faulty lock mechanism are just a couple of the common problems.

Then there's the Dual G5's having to be returned due to a catalogue of problems, not to mention the fiasco with the original 10.2.8.

Windows iTunes has also experienced problems with users commenting that it's not working correctly on many computers.

Hmm...

I really prefer this sort of action to the whinging and whining on the forums. Hopefully it will be taken seriously.

Good idea. They're all a great bunch of people, and always reply to your emails.

They'll love this!

Plus, they get half their news from Think Secret and MR now anyway it seems, but it's tough competing with the web news. They do a great job.

Cool idea but perhaps the problem here is the crappy AppleStore service? There's a lot of Apple resellers in the UK that try their best but keep getting shafted because they get as much notice as us about new stuff and the Apple store gets first dibs at stock. Why don't we just all agree not to buy from the Apple store and buy from a reseller or another store? This way we help resellers and and **** over the AppleStore.

Remember if you buy your mac from John Lewis they give you a TWO year warranty as standard for the same price as the Applestore charges.
