I'd love to post his email address....but I've met the guy and he helped me out at the time on 'another' Apple related problem. So rather than run the risk of loads of spam mail containing expletive this and that, I'd be more than happy to send a mass complaint email to him.

If you'd like to join in the party then pm me your name, date ordered, date 'shipped', general UK location. Plus lets say a short sentence or two regarding your general feelings towards the 'evening delivery' marketing on the UK Store and the lack of Panther currently on your Mac, then we might get some form of explaination. To be honest the more the merrier, it'd be great if 50 plus could be involved rather just caveman and myself. Caveman and Freakboy...gay superhero sitcom in the making! :D

Congrats mate, my post has been but no panther or non-delivery card. I'm EXPECTING it to be in the red van too. They usually swing by anytime from 8am and before 1pm.

When was your shipping notice again? did your apple page say it had shipped by Spring (regardless of how it actually arrived)?

Parcel Post usually arrives with the normal postman.... Parcel Post is nothing special it's just VERY SLOOOOWWWW because parcel post is also VERY CHEAP.

Do not get Parcel Post confused with Parcel Force....

Well, our post comes VERY early, and parcels don't fit through the letterbox on our gates, so parcels ALWAYS come from vans later, regarless of parcel post or parcel force it seems.

:(

I'm happy for everyone, don't get me wrong, but I live in a largish city, on the main train line, 30 mins from an international airport, and 1 mile from the post sorting office, and it ain't here.

SERIOUSLY hoping for a van.

Same here. If it doesn't turn up today I've got a right mind to refuse it at the door and take my business elsewhere. This takes the cake really - mine was supposedly shipped on Tuesday - 6 days from shipping to delivery?

Same here - shipped on Tuesday.

However, from what I understand, shipping via Parcel Post is just an oversized letter, and thus if you refuse delivery, it's tough, and you have no form of compensation claim or refund stance, becasue there's nothing to sign for and such.

If anyone knows more about this, I'd welcome the knowledge.:)

You are correct, Parcel Post is basically an oversized letter, not recorded or special delivery in anyway. How Apple can send via this method escapes me, pretty much everything they have ever sent to me via this method go missing as I'm sure our postie has a mac or something as I only ever seem to receive my stuff when they finally send it via TNT.

You'd have thought they put some effort into making sure it arrived on Friday, instead of just putting it into what is allegedly the slowest way of delivery ever created. That said, it's not like I live in deepest darkest Scotland, for crying out loud!

P.S. It's still not here. B******s!

Hey! I live in deepest darkest Scotland!:)

At this rate I'll maybe get it before the next update.

I don't know how they can get away with using parcel post, since their delivery notice clearly states:

Terms of Delivery CIP Carriage and Insurance Paid

Correct me if I'm wrong, but since when has normal parcel post included insurance?

The mind boggles.

Excellent point!!!

What does CIP mean though?

OK, just picked mine up from the post room at work!

Delivered by Royal Mail 1st class post, sent from Southall.

Good luck to the rest of you!

From Royal Mail.com

Standard parcels

Our standard parcels service is suitable for sending non urgent parcels in the UK. We aim to deliver parcels within 3 - 5 working days after posting.

The minimum charge for standard parcels is £3.32. Parcels of up to 30Kg in weight may be sent using this service. The maximum allowed length is 1.5 metres and the length and girth of the parcel combined must not exceed 3 metres.

When sending standard parcels from a Post Office branch you will be issued with a certificate of posting. Compensation of up to £20 ( or market value, whichever is lower ) may be paid for loss or damage and you will need to produce the certificate when making a claim.

If the content of your parcel is more valuable you may purchase enhanced compensation for loss or damage up to a limit of £500.

Also, under 'goods excluded from compensation' - it states 'negotiable documents' - since Panther requires a user agreement, does this classify?

On hold to Apple UK now...
