I don't mean to pour scorn on (y)our efforts regarding the petition but it might be worth pointing out that a petition for basically the same thing already exists and has slightly more signatures - 8641 at last count. Check here :

So how much effect has it had so far? Exactly NONE!
I really think that, if we want to make our dissatisfaction clear to Apple, something more meaningful has to be said/done. Calling them on Monday might help, even if it only makes us feel better individually.
I still believe the totally misleading and untrue claim made on the UK Apple Store about delivery on Fri 24th is our best opportunity. That claim is, by all accounts, an absolute lie - Apple have no defence in saying they meant it would be "shipped" on Fri. That's like saying a letter has been 'delivered' as soon as you drop it in a post-box! It's a ridiculous response.
If we make our feeling about this clear to the appropriate authorities Apple really have no option to pay attention. If you want to make a complaint regarding this you must contact your local Trading Standards Office, usually based in your local authority. You can find your local office by checking here :
http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/ and there's usually an email address to contact them directly.
An official complaint (or better still lots of them!) is far more likely to gain press attention and thereby give many disgruntled UK Mac users an opportunity to voice their feelings about Apple's past treatment of non-US customers.
If you're not really bothered about any of this that's fine, enjoy a good moan and get on with your life!
But, if you're really sick of Apple's treatment of UK, and international, customers then we need to make a bit more noise about it - and using the right channels.
Over to you?
