Just confirming you can't get to CORe from anywhere but an Apple store? Is it pronounced "core"?

Tried to order another phone since I don't have trust in Verizon calling me tomorrow. Got the following:

"An iPhone order already exists for this account.

There's an existing order on your Verizon Wireless account. You can only have one "add-a-line" order per account at a time.
You'll be able to place additional iPhone orders once you receive and activate this iPhone."

So I guess since my line wouldn't activate the order is still open. So now I have an open order on my account and a hold thats apparently supposed to be lifted.

I'm impressed at the hustle.

Too bad the UDP prices are literally like Buy 1 Get 1 Free for $4.99 on eBay.

I've been out of the game for like 1.5 weeks now, glad to see that this is still getting mad action.

Verizon also told me every pending app is a ding on your internal Verizon credit which I think is Baloney as long as they remove them
Each pending app IS a ding to your internal Verizon credit AND that is why you have to get them to remove them. But once they are removed, there is no issue.

What are you telling them?
I no longer have that phone or sim could you please put a PDI on it.

some reps say, "no we can't do that." others have said, "we are not allowed to do that."

The number that pops up on the easy pay when I have had an Analyst Review is 1-888-866-6924. It says CORe department on the easy pay but when you call that number it says Channel Support and the prompts are for verizon employees and 3rd party retailer employees so I don't think they take calls from customers.

I just tell them the truth - the person taking this line is not taking the phone so please put a PDI on the line so they don't get a line with my phone on it.

Any advice on renting out udp lines ?
I would think the market for that is dead given all the free UDP lines out there. But perhaps there is a person so stupid that they would rent out a UDP line instead of taking one for free. Just like there may be a person so stupid that they would AOL that guy's 2GB plan when they could get that same deal from Verizon and get a $150 bill credit and a subsidized phone.

So I guess my advice is to prey on stupid people, lol! Seriously, I could never be that slimey but I wouldn't put it past some of you.

Also there are no ifs ands or buts about it - renting out a UDP is reselling Verizon's service and that is prohibited by the CA and can result in your account being terminated. Obviously people were getting away with that before so perhaps you could continue to get away with it idk. What I would be worried about if I were you is that your victims would find out about all of the free UDP lines out there and then get mad and report you to Verizon.

It doesn't get any more shady than that ! I guess that people no longer read the cellular contract
Agreed but people were doing it successfully prior to the apple glitch being discovered. I just don't see how it could continue given the glut of UDP lines out there.

I would think the only people who would be interested are those who can't get their own account because of credit or other issues.

I wouldn't go there, though. Just suspend and hope the market improves. I suspect this "glitch" will be taken care of by the end of the year.

I've spoken to a few folks that were renting lines out. Their business has fallen apart. The only thing they can offer is the no credit check and no contract.

Yeah but if they have credit so bad that they can't even get a post-paid Verizon account then they probably can't afford to rent one for very much money.

I would suspend but people keep asking me for more lines, lol!

I am predicting February.

Well they can get in the "create a $45/mo UDP MHS" business then, lol!

Also where are you hanging out that you meet people like that?!?!?!!?!?!?

Nexus 6 preorder lines ;)

In the beginning I had some renters jumping at my UDP lines on eBay. I started talking to them about their business etc. Then was trying to make them deals on lines. But each of them has stopped buying and trying to close lines as the renting market has died.

Shhh let's not tell them about the $45 UDP :p

That is a brilliant marketing plan, BTW! Particularly if you were able to supply the already set up sim.
I am not AOLing those w/o their phone on the line so they have to have their own SIM card. They can figure out a way to get their own SIM card - they can buy them off of ebay, get a friend with Verizon to get one for them, etc. You apparently can buy them from BB and VARs/VPRs if you are not a Verizon customer.

I received my ship to home about one week early. Cannot activate phone all other functions work with wifi. Do I wait or call apple engineer?

calling apple is fine, it is calling verizon that is the problem. You need to try activating over WiFi, cellular data and iTunes. If none of those work, put an already active nano SIM in the device from another line.

I did exactly as you said above yesterday and when I did the nano SIM switch the new phone took over the other line phone number. The new phone was never activated. What happens if I use the new phone on an old line and never activate the new line phone number. Thanks for you guidance.

Yes, that is what will happen.

The new phone was never activated.
The new phone was activated. It is the new line that has not been activated. This is not an apple problem so calling apple is a waste of time and calling Verizon will result in you losing UDP and being put on the 2GB plan.

What happens if I use the new phone on an old line and never activate the new line phone number.
From what people have said here and in the closed thread, the new line will eventually show up. And if it doesn't, then you got a subsidized phone w/o a 2 year contract and can add a new UDP line selecting p/u in-store and get another subsidized phone.

If you are uncomfortable with this, return the phone and start over selecting p/u in-store.
