I'd like to know that as well.

On a side note can you AOL a line thats suspended or would it need to be unsuspended first.

It can be suspended, but VZW may ask why it is suspended before unsuspending it for the buyer of the line (just to make sure that it wasn't suspended because the phone was lost or stolen).

I am not AOLing those w/o their phone on the line so they have to have their own SIM card. They can figure out a way to get their own SIM card - they can buy them off of ebay, get a friend with Verizon to get one for them, etc. You apparently can buy them from BB and VARs/VPRs if you are not a Verizon customer.

I bought my own SIM, but am stuck in limbo waiting on a phone. Bought one off Swappa days ago, but the seller hasn't shipped and isn't responding to either myself or Swappa staff.

Hope Verizon doesn't shut down my UDP line or anything in the meantime. Can't even create an account and login to set up payment or anything since I have no phone to receive the signup text message.

Have always used eBay in the past without problems, but decided to try Swappa since everyone seems to think it's safer/better. Not going well, so far...

Do you have another unlocked phone with LTE? If so try popping the SIM in it to see if you can at least receive the text message with the PIN.

Thanks for the suggestion. Have been with AT&T for a while now, so all my phones are GSM. Trying to get the Swappa one either shipped or canceled so I can buy one from someone else.

If any of them have LTE and are unlocked, the Verizon SIM might at least activate the LTE radio. In the iPhone 6, it will even turn on the CDMA radio (though that's not the case in the iPhone 5s or 5). If it will activate the LTE radio you might be able to receive a text.

It's really getting annoying that people buy the plan on eBay and not take it. How can you prevent those who have little to no rating from buying your plans?:(

Hmm.. probably out of luck since all I have available to me are 4S and 5S. Worth investigating, though.

Sorry to hear that - did the seller have good feedback?

They are supposed to ship w/in 2 business days, if they don't, I would file a paypal dispute.

Was a new user who joined relatively recently so no feedback, yet. I was reluctant, but decided to give him the benefit of the doubt since everybody has to start with no sales/feedback. Will probably be able to get money back from PayPal. Just wanting to get the line up and running ASAP.

Next time buy from someone with feedback. I would file a pay pal dispute and buy a different phone today off of swappa or ebay or try Craig's List.

Also - always use your credit card when you use paypal.

You need to tell swappa to refund your $10, too.

I currently have a Nationwide 1400 Family Plan. I just added a fifth line to it with the UDP. I wanted to add a sixth line with an UDP and new phone. I ordered it online from Apple and went down to pick it up. They were having activation issues so they called Verizon. Verizon says only five lines allowed on my plan. So, I thought I could have up to 10 lines. Verizon says if I want a sixth line, I need to move to the More Everything Plan. Does that sound right? If so, kind of bummed, as I needed to add another line for my daughter. Thanks in advance.

Yes, eBay was what I typically used but had seen all kind of recent stories about how bad eBay has become and how much better Swappa is.

Problem with only buying from people with good reputations and a bunch of sales history on Swappa is that it excludes pretty much everyone except the businesses who resell on there.

Each family plan can only have 5 lines.
Each "account" can only have 2 family plans
thus, you must create a sub account with one of the lines you have ( by moving one of your existing lines to it) then you can have the 10 lines.

well I sell on swappa and have good feedback, not a huge amount, I think maybe 8 now. I would have more but have been selling my iPhones locally. But I guess you could call me a business now, lol!!!!

Well you can't have 6 lines on a NationWide family share. Do you have 4 children? Can't you kick the older ones off of the plan - tell them to get a job?

If not who else is on your plan? If it is your parent(s), there may be affordable single line options for them depending on how much they talk/text and use data.

More SIM Card Trickery!!!!

I currently have the same phone on 2 different ACTIVE lines using different SIM cards!!!! I did the test call and it worked but now I am getting garbled text messages from Verizon. Not sure why.

Going to suspend 1 again.

Bored. Haha.

That's not because of the sim card thing, I have gotten garbled text messages from Verizon a few times even on lines that I haven't played with. I think it's just a system glitch. Jules though, you're being brave with your sim card swapping!!! :D

At some point, when this is all over... I will count all the SIM cards I have left........ :D:apple:

there many options that will work well but I like adding a usb modem (Pantech UML295 because it has 2 external antenna ports) to a Cradlepoint router (MBR95, MBR1200, MBR1200b, MBR1400) because it offers external antenna capabilities and you can take the usb modem with you if you travel so it becomes a dual purpose UDP line

Is mbr1200 (not the 1200b) compatible with the UML295 modem?

Everything I am reading is telling me the older 1200 doesn't recognize the uml295.

Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks

I was only wondering if the Verizon Rep was mis-informed, as many of them are. I have had the plan for soooo long, I thought I could get up to 10 lines. Since ordering off the Apple website, they access my Verizon account, I thought I was good to go, as the order went through no problem.

My mom and mother-in-law use a lot of data, as they have been used to it, as well as my wife and I. We all use FaceTime over LTE a lot when talking, as we have an UDP. The fifth line was a 16GB SG 6 that I still have, and using the SIM in the family iPad Air 2 that uses a lot of data. My daughter is who the line is for, and she is 12. Yes, she uses a lot of data. May just pull the SIM out of the iPad and let her use the 16GB SG 6 I have. Looks like it will cost $30 month for 2GB of data for the iPad, if I just get a data plan. Might be the way to go? I was going to sell the phone which would have covered the cost of the new line for about 10 months, but looks like I am keeping it.

Thanks again for the quick answer. It is greatly appreciated to have an online community like this.
