Really? I'm still able to log on with my existing username and password, and it shows my new number online when I do that.
right, but try logging on using your old phone number and your new phone number instead of your user name. If it doesn't work using the phone numbers, that is the issue.

What you do is call Verizon and tell them to unregister your account from online access and then reregister using the new phone number. Should fix the problem.

I've been following this thread. Would like the unlimited plan but it sounds a bit risky. I'm not a Verizon customer. Are these phones for sale on Ebay or Swappa, or Craigslist?

Mama JulesJam don't got no Master's in Engineering but she sho do know about Verizon's system, lol!

You mean verizon iPhones? Yes of course. But really you should consider the Nexus 6 to take full advantage of your new UDP line.

I'm not a fan of huge phones, so no Nexus for me. Also, why are the phones so overpriced? They're asking for $100 over retail for a phone that has been opened.

Supply and demand. Try swappa - a 16GB iPhone 6 new but opened sold for $650, which is the full retail price but you save the sales tax, which can be another $40-$50 so you are still saving a significant amount.

Also - Verizon 4G LTE phones are GSM SIM unlocked world phones so you can use them on international carriers as well as ATT and TMobile.

You need to make an offer if the price is too high for you.

Need a 64GB space gray, which seems impossible to find now.

Yes, that is a popular one but give it a week or so. Otherwise you can buy a 16GB iPhone 6 and then sell it when the 64GBs get more plentiful.

Thanks. If it takes more than a week, I might give up and get a Sony Z3 Compact. I know it's supply and a demand, but it seems like they're not producing the 64GB space gray, at least the GSM one.

They are but people are keeping those for personal use.

What does the Nexus 6 offer that you can't get on an iPhone in terms of taking advantage of the UDP?

Free Wifi MHS if you unlock and root, which is ridiculously easy on a Nexus. Fastboot OEM unlock. Bootloader unlocked!!!! Download SuperSU and flash TWRP custom recovery and you are rooted! Then Xposed framework and Xtether module, which I am sure will very quickly be updated for Lollipop.

If you have UDP on Verizon and an iPhone, you have to jailbreak it to get that and there is no jailbreak for iOS8 yet AFAIK.

With free Wifi MHS you can get rid of your home internet. You also can use a MiFi on a UDP line to get rid of your home internet. Hell some people get rid of cable, too. You can use Chromecast to cast netflix and Watch ESPN, Hulu others too. I like the Food Network app.

Oh, I use my iPad for MHS. It's automatically unlocked on iPads. I also get three times the speed on my home internet than I do with Verizon where I am, so I wouldn't look to replace my internet with LTE. Good to know, though!

Right but you have to pay for another line for it unless you use your phone line's SIM card in the iPad and then how do you receive phone calls?

If your phone is unlocked and rooted, not only do you not need an LTE iPad, which is more expensive, you don't need an extra line.

On a 4G LTE phone on Verizon? Have you tried the speedtest app? Ookla?

If so, then just wait for XLTE to come to your neck of the woods!

I use T-Mobile for phone calls because bizarrely I get better T-Mo service where I work than I do with Verizon. I'm basically using the Verizon unlimited line just for my iPad at this point. I will be adding my fiancee to my account at some point to help reduce the cost on the minutes that I'm not really using. If I really had an issue where I was someplace that I had bad service but needed to make a call, I could either FaceTime from my iPad (obviously this would only work if the other person has an iOS device) or throw the sim in my T-Mobile phone.

Once XLTE comes around and wifi calling is enabled I may dump T-Mobile, but for now this setup works for me.

Yeah, I'm getting about 20 mbps down with Verizon, and I get 100 down with Time Warner Cable, and they're going to be bumping that up to 300 mbps down soon.

That's great - does it make a huge difference in surfing the net or do you seed torrents, lol! I mean who needs 300 mbps? What are you people doing that you need that kind of download speed? I can watch videos w/o buffering at 10 mbps down.

Of course if I did use torrents I wouldn't mention it here. ;)

But even without torrents, I always have a lot of devices running and I leave stuff going when I'm working on other things, so having the extra overhead afforded by such high speed connections really becomes useful when I have multiple devices going all at once.

Also it's brilliant for gaming.

When I see something like that I assume the seller bid against himself to make the price go up.

Not to mention if u look at bid history the 7 bidders all made their eBay account in the last 30 days. I highly doubt he'll be getting paid

Also 1 bidder no longer a registered user and the seller just made an account 10/4. That auction has scam city written all over it haha

J,

Question. I added two lines with udp. No issues so far. But I've also added unlimited family text now. Will I have an issue adding another and getting another phone? Or should I drop the unlimited family text?

I see a lot of silver and gold 16gb phones in my area, but I know everyone's looking for the space grey. Is it worth waiting for those to pop up, or is the resale value negligible?

try it and see if you get options other than the free UL texting. That was BCB's issue - he wasn't given the option of payg. Safest is to select pasyg and then the line will automatically have UL family text when it shows up on your account. But if adding the UL family text prevents you from selecting pasyg text, there may be an issue.

Free UL texting definitely has caused problems for people.

keep an eye on ebay and swappa. I haven't see much of a difference if anything sometimes the gold ones go for more *shrugs*
