Did you initiate the AOL today and was it to a business as well? I'm trying to decide whether the line receiver should keep trying or just cancel the AOL altogether. Any advice is appreciated.
It seems like we are back in business. Just heard from my business contact that he can AOL unlimited with no issues.
I've done two to a business today with another authorized today. I've done two to two individuals yesterday and one today already. More to come.
That's incredible! This cannot be pure luck. Are you willing to share how you accomplished this?
If anybody has a line or two, I know people to take them off your hands. I will be helping them do so through the 4-5 reps we may need to speak with. pm.
The problem is... The more we sit here and discuss this here in PUBLIC the quicker verizon goes and fixes it.
It's a double edged sword, but for me, I'd rather ride this out as long as I can.
There's no special steps. Same as before. Call up and get a helpful rep![]()
And if Desert Silver had kept things to himself, none of us would know about this. Anyhow, I think Verizon can tell from ebay whether or not AOLing UDP is viable or not. There is no stopping that.
well I am part of the masses, lol! I wouldn't have known about this if CNotes hadn't posted on AC about it.That's true, to an extent. Believe it or not, I did see the unlimited option when I tried to preorder my iPhone 6 plus. But for the masses, yeah, they probably wouldn't have seen it.
Oh well.

Same here...i wonder if we have the same person![]()

And for me at least this isn't a second job and I have enjoyed the fun and comradery of this thread not to mention the tips on how to accomplish all of this.
Just to clarify - you took the iPhone 6 SIM card out of the device and used it to activate an iPhone 5s and weren't charged the activation fee? So the iPhone 6 was opened and it's SIM card activated but the iPhone 6 itself was never activated?
What message do you get when you type in the iPhone 6 serial number here:

.
Then they would know all of our tricks!!!I agree with this. I think we now all need to go work for Verizon since we can train their employees and know their systems better then most of them do.
So much availabilty now!! Especially 64's, which were such a rarity. Never seen so much green availabilty in every local store for almost all models.
I never did either but I did have to call to get the SIMs activated on the line as they were not already activated and the system would not text me the authorization code. Perhaps that was the difference - having a rep do it?Some of the 6's were activated, some were not. I always activated the lines with the 5s, then sometimes switched it to the 6 if we did 2 phones. I never activated a phone with the SIM it came with, thinking that it bypassed the activation fee for Best Buy so it probably would do the same for this.
Is an AT&T model not locked to AT&T if you pay full price for it?T-Mobile is still in scarce supply. It's probably all the people looking for "unlocked" devices who don't realize they can purchase the Verizon or AT&T models at full price.
I've been doing that all along, and haven't been charged an activation fee yet. I have been through 2 billing cycles since this started.
Edit: misread that part - I activated just about all of the phones with a 5s using the 6's sim. Still, haven't been charged an activation fee.

So did you take the SIM out of the unactivated iPhone 6 and then use that SIM to activate the iPhone 5s? Is that how you avoided the activation fee?
You see the activation fees on the very next bill IME or you don't ever see them. I will try your way next time. I was trying to develop a method to sell a sealed device but like I said, I didn't recoup the $35 activation fee, which really surprised me but the open ones don't sell for much less than the sealed ones.I did exactly that. I hope I avoided activation fees and am not in for a surprise! I'll know in another week or so when the next bill is available.
Oddly, in Chicago the 6 Plus is "plentiful" on Verizon. As for the 6, Space Gray and Silver are plentiful in 16GB and 64GB. Gold is now hard to get! It's the reverse of what it was 2 weeks ago. AT&T supplies are pretty good. Sprint is nonexistent.

Since the SIM cards are "pre" activated by the scan activation in store, you should be able to use an adapter to activate them in another device. If they were completely virgin SIM cards, you would get the incompatible SIM card error if you tried to activate them for the first time in a device that used a different size SIM card.Does it have to be an Iphone or any smartphone that you can stick the new Iphone 6 SIM card using an adapter?
