search the thread but I would try to get Verizon rep to call CORe first. I did and it removed the line right away. Subaccount as a last resort.

Did you jailbreak your phones yet?

Anyone know any good sources, places to get the apps for free and etc.?

Will porting in to a UDP be blocked by VZW? Not the same as AOL exactly but wondering if anyone would know

Don't support piracy

The app store has lots of free apps. And the ones for money aren't exactly expensive. Support the developers.

I am not heavy into games or apps with phones but I always like to test things out so I usually get the free route and then if I like it I buy it. I've been doing it with Android for years!!

But I do jailbreak atleast I need those 3rd party apps & etc.

Is MyWi and tetherMe the best options for wifi tether?

For those who are using tablets/hotspots with a UDP - how big of a risk is it? I had and probably still have a fraud alert, does this increase the chance of being caught?

It should not since it is essentially just changing the number and canceling your old account with your old carrier.

The old unlimited customers (read, current unlimited) will be allowed to keep theirs, but the system was changed such that any change of account on the plan will auto trigger to switch to a ME tiered data plan.
What does any change of account on the plan mean? Can you move it from a subaccount into a main account?

Anyone get any AOLs in today?

Noticeably smaller crowds today (Sunday) at Portland's flagship Apple store and they didn't have the "express" line set up for iphone pick ups. I picked up a gold ipad mini 4G 128gb to add to one of new new UDP lines :apple::cool:

ipad mini 3 - overpriced? probably but I had a $500 gift card (intended for an iphone 6 plus add a line purchase) and some windfall UDP profits I needed to burn lol

Nice. A fellow udp creator at my local store. No wonder supply was hard to come by in the early days of this. . .

I doubt Big Red would throw an Unlimited Data Plan out there knowing their networks are beginning to be flooded with many new customers and current clouding it as it is. But if XLTE can handle it that would make Verizon even bigger than what it is now!!

Verizon is already looking at rolling out LTE-A next year, IIRC. LTE-A can handle incredible data loads. Most people are well trained now to parse out their data usage and offload to wifi whenever possible. I bet even if Verizon does bring back UDP in the future, they'll see a lot less data use than they would have if people had unlimited data all this time. And even if Verizon does see a huge spike in data usage, LTE-A can handle it.

Now, does that mean there will be true UDP for new customers? I'm sure there will be lots of strings attached, Verizon isn't a charity and won't do this unless there's a big incentive for them. And no way will it remain $30.

Thanks, I meant if they notice a tablet on a phone line. :D

Verizon has said that people can put their SIM cards in any compatible device and use it as that device allows them to. However, if making changes to the account while going through reps, I'd recommend having those SIM cards in phones and not tablets or MHS.

MHS speeds are great so far...

That is a rep dependent thing but some of them freak out if you have a data only device on a phone line. Verizon cannot stop you from doing this but the reps are not lawyers and are capable of taking away your UDP. So don't call with a tablet on a phone line and of course stay away from corporate stores except to just go in and look at devices, but don't let them look at your account.

What MHS device do you use?

Well if it were just up to Verizon, they would not allow you to do that. The issue is that because of the terms of the Block C licenses, Verizon cannot stop you from putting your SIM card in any compatible device.

Again, the reps aren't lawyers and it is a YMMV kind of thing with the reps. Don't let them see a data only device on a line with voice minutes. End of problem.

Agreed, this is why I recommended putting you SIM in a phone before talking to a rep. :)
