Wrong. Paypal just changed that policy effective from nov-18 this year so if the purchase was made prior to that date then they will protect buyers from digital goods.
After you assumed liability, you can walk to a verizon store ask for a sim.
Of course if the seller can just send you a sim, it maybe a bit easier.
Getting sim is not the hard part. Right now is get the AOL done.
You should ask the seller on ebay these tough questions, especially if you're welling to pay the big bucks for it....
It's not possible I contacted one of the seller and had him contact verizon and he confirmed that Verizon no longer allowed transfer of udp through aol. It's a no go, let me know if anyone successfully aol an udp
I believe it's a YMMV situation now, just as with AT&T. Technically it's outside of policy but individual reps can make exceptions. Now that it is no longer possible to create new UDPs at apple.com the reps seem to be more willing to make exceptions.
Please read the last few pages of the thread.
It is possible. I, as well as many members, have been successful.
If someone was able to create another UPD with loyalty plan, then everything still goes.... just no longer able to create new UDP lines.
If you really want one, and has right price tag in mind, people here may help you out.....

So you have to have a existing verizon account to have the line transfer? Or can it be new customer like myself?
You can be a new customer. You will setup the account when you call the aol department

It seems like reading comprehension is not your strong suit. Of course it says digital goods are not covered under buyer protection because its 11/24/2014 TODAY. I said this is a new policy in place since 11/18/2014. Source paypal:

Oh and if it helps another member, I used this clause _Digital Transfer about 1 year ago, so in effect there has NOT been a change recently of this particular clause. Easy Mr. Know it all.

Yes there was a change to it recently. I have had cases turn in my favor for digital goods all of 2013-2014 and now i won't be covered due to new policies. So if you buying an UDP line on ebay from now on and you lose it you probably won't get your money back via paypal.
Is there two different number for contacting AOL? This #(888) 832-4540 seems to be for the buyer to accept the transfer. What is the number to initiate the AOL process?
This # (888) 832-4540 is only asking me to dial the number I want to accept.
The AOL dept phone prompt will accept any Verizon number. Even the one you're not transferring. I've typed mine innumerable times. :-D

Now I'm nervous about this. I sold mine for $500 on eBay hopefully the system still allows the transfer.
Keep us posted. I'm still debating what to do with my UDP. If I could port my AT&T number while keeping that UDP I'd do that in an instant, but no one has figured out a way to do that from what I can tell. I like the idea of being able to tether with impunity on VZW with my iPad but also have been using my AT&T number for nearly 10 years and don't want to lose that UDP either since it costs me just $60/month after taxes (my new VZW plan is about $72/month after taxes with my corporate plan).
