Seems like the risks in doing this whole thing is now unloading the UDP lines to someone.

Once the loophole closes people may be geeking to get UDP's once again

----------

It's crazy how market has been flooded. Last month would have gotten $500 for these lines. Now I can't even find anyone to take them for free. This sucks.

I have been "network marketing" UDP's to friends outside of the forum / CL market that are unaware they can get UDP's but it's a slow process

Just suspend the lines until the loop hole closes. The UDP should be worth something then. If the loop hole ever closes. ;)

But don't you have to pay apple for the difference between subsidized price and retail if you just cancel the line?

Here is the math - as long as you can sell a 16GB iPhone 6 for full retail, you should be only out the activation fee if you have to cancel the line at least at my sales tax rate.

Sale Price = $650

Subsidized 16GB iP6 = $210
Activation fee = $35
Swappa fee = $10
Paypal fee = $20
S/H + Insurance = $25
Total Costs = $300

Profit = $350

So you would lose the $35 activation fee if you sold a 16GB iP6 at full retail at my tax rate if you had to pay the $350 etf.

Not exactly. All that Mumbo Jumbo is built into the monthly cost and etf then you tack on fees taxes arm and a leg and you make out less some would say you would only be on the grind for monthly fee + etf + activation fee/upgrade fee + taxes and fees

I was thinking that AutoLode, I may keep the lines on my account suspended. However I don't want an entirely separate account to have to pay for. I have 8 lines to unload currently.

I had a DirecTV repair man over today and he said he bought and sold cell phones on the side so I asked him if he had UDP and he said no but he wished he had it so we did an AOL right there as he was switching out my DVR. He said free was a very good price :) I also told him to ask his customers if they wanted one and he could charge them a few pasos and get it from me (or us) for free

Successful in-store pick up here. Looks like my unlimited text didn't matter after all. Showing in myverizon online with UDP and part of same existing family plan with unlimited texts.

Now to find someone that will take this line off my hands...

No - you pay Verizon the etf. Apple and all of the 3rd party retailers get paid the subsidy by Verizon when you buy an on contract phone. So verizon takes the hit, not apple when you cancel a line. Hence you pay the etf to Verizon.

Awesome!!! Was the issue just the difference between actual and estimated shipping dates?

Yep!!!! you can suspend w/o billing for 180 days.

iMore should have one, too.

Ask the mods though, or they will ban your ass - they are quick to ban posters, I know I have been banned there probably 30 times.
Did anyone inquire about this?

I did not as I only have 10 posts and I think you need 50.

But if you are giving something away for free they may make an exception. I can't ask b/c I am banned for life and would have to create a new fake email and spoof my IP address - too much trouble if they aren't going to allow it.

CNotes - can you ask?

Not to sidetrack things too much but how much data is everyone using for the UDP to be cost effective, especially those with the family plans?

even at slickdeals won't take free?

I gave my lines away locally. Idk about slick deals rules but when one poster merely asked for a $5 Amazon gc, they deleted the posts so it would have to be for free on there but not sure even then.

How 'bout you do that analysis, post it here and then we'll all know?

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter to any of us b/c we aren't giving up our UDP lines even if it were cost effective. None of us knows precisely what the future holds but we do know that data is what matters and that Verizon is barred from throttling us b/c of the block C spectrum licenses. So far at least, Verizon is too chicken to take away our UDP and believe me, some UDP line owners abuse it to the point it is astounding (i.e., close to 300GB in one day).

hahaha, i think at end of the day, people are still holding onto them, because we believe it should worth something...
If it merely allows me not to think about how much data I am using and to just use my phone as I please, it is worth it.

I can only assume the issue with the ship-to-home line was difference in shipping/activation dates. I still haven't seen that extra line show up and hope it never does.

Wow the iP6+ are not moving on swappa. I don't have another one to sell yet but I think I should check out selling on ebay. What do you think - does the increased selling price make up for the increased fees on ebay?
