This was much earlier in the year. I was doing something rather different than I'm doing now- selling one unlimited data line with 4 basic lines for .99 on eBay, all lines would get upgraded, then I would sell them all together. So many line activations, it wasn't funny, and I did it all through verizon telesales

I see.

you get phones that way?

i guess I am out. they put hold on my acct. no more adding a line for 6 months. unless I can find a way. at least they dont kill my acct n udps.
Did they tell you this in-store at apple when they called? How did they let you know?

yes. I will RTFT….. ;)
No worries Jules, I still love you….;):apple::cool::eek:;):apple::cool::eek:

Does it work? did you get it?

I'll know tomorrow. Going to hook up my friends, he AOLed a line from me the other day. I don't see why it wouldn't work, swap the SIM in it with the one from his iPhone 5 that is active on the UDP line.

Yes, as it has been pointed out before, I don't like to speak in complete sentences.

So you were flipping phones, since it was not possible to create UDP lines? Or you had other ways of generating UDP lines?
He was bundling 1 UDP line with 4 basic lines and upgrading all the lines so getting 5 iPhones and then selling the lines together for 99 cents.

Mutha Effin flippers! Haha

Says in auction it ships in November. He could've least put the date in.

Damn nexus is a flippers dream rite now haha

Looks like there are 22 people who got in on the pre order today who turned rite around and put them on eBay. One or two people got more than one.

They called me again and said 3 months. Like that gonna make any difference.:p

This is new line. Only a month old. I split it from my wife account so I can manufacture more UDP lines. So they kind of protect themselves after seeing more than 40 new lines opened and reassigned immediately. All Iphones 6 & 6+.

I was thinking about merging the acct back to my wife acct after all of these over. Her account has 20% discount.

Well, I just bought CRADLEPOINT MBR1200B + USB Modem UML290. Hopefully I can save more $$$ by cancelling Time Warner Cable.

I still have 5 UDP lines. ;) Account manager can't create new acct in the Apple Store ?

I wanted one but I can wait. No way I am paying more than retail for it. My Moto X is a great daily driver.

Ah so I have a ways to go.

Is there anything I should be aware of if I list UDP lines on CL? How to protect myself from spammers, scammers, etc?

Let us know how this setup works out. I have been looking into the same setup.

I have been using the Cradlepoint 1000 +UM150 on 3g with Roku and except for some intermittent throttling it's worked well however I am in a rural area. I have a new UML295 (recon) from 3gstore waiting for a new udp line.

Upgraded my existing UDP via Costco last month and went via apple to add a line but for some reason the new phone would not activate Apple could not explain and Verizon said the sim that came with it belonged to someone else. How that is possible in a sealed phone who knows.

Back to square one trying to add a line not sure I want the aggravation going through apple again.

I can't say enough great things about the Cradlepoint router after using for many years without issue. There is a thread on Hofo about a Novatel router where I believe they report it allows use of your phone while using the data simultaneously.

Just wanted to give a nod to the cradlepoint / usb modem set up (and vent my frustrations with adding a line.)

If it was ship to home, that was the problem. It was not a SIM belonging to someone else, that was just some idiot rep pulling asinine explanations out of their behind.

Do p/u in-store.

Thanks. I thought it was okay to ship to home with add a line too. The store is about three hours away so I may try something else.

Lots of people can't activate the phones when they choose ship to home. Some can but it is hit or miss. Apple engineers have been able to fix the problem for some people but not all.

You also can order a new UDP line in-store.

Once the inventory/demand mismatch clears up, the ship to home may be more reliable.

Has this been an issue with the 6 & 6+ only? What about having the 5s shipped to home when adding an UDP line?

I'm giving the in-store thing a shot. I have a 64GB iPhone 6 on order that should be ready for in-store pickup tomorrow, but I'm out of town so won't be able to pick it up until Friday.

Do I let them activate in store or just tell them to "scan activate" it and turn it on myself at home? I ordered the NW 450 + $29.99 iPhone Unlimited + $5 text plan. I've heard conflicting reports here and on the SD thread. This is for personal use. I want a "Verizon" subsidized iPhone (and the $5 text plan) and will just sell the full-priced T-Mobile iPhone 6 I've been using on AT&T for the last month on Swappa. I'll probably give away my first UDP line on SD or the Marketplace here after I'm sure the new line will stick.

I'll keep my dirt cheap off-contract grandfathered AT&T UDP for a little while to see how this whole FCC lawsuit works out, but have the flexibility to cancel it and port the number whenever I want. Flexibility is nice. :)

They have to scan activate it to create the line. Some reps will let you leave with the phone unactivated others won't.

Conflicting reports about what?

Conflicting reports about what?

Some people said the reps changed their data plans to 2GB while others have said they left it as UDP.

So if they insist on activating it (though hopefully Michigan Ave is busy enough so that they let me activate it myself), is there anything special I need to do? If they let me walk out the door unactivated, do I just turn it on myself or do I need to do anything special?

Remember, I have a high credit score and this is just my second credit check on VZW in about a month. So CORe shouldn't need to get involved.
