UDP IIRC. The problem was they had already returned the phone so they then had to deal with getting the line canceled and convince Verizon that they had returned the phone. I think it wasn't difficult - Verizon just had to confirm with the particular Apple store that the phone was returned.

That is by far the most difficult thing in the world. I had to go back to the apple store after already returning it. just so apple can call Verizon and say it was returned, even though it showed as returned in Verizons systems.

Weird my rep just looked at apples note on the line and authorized the termination and credit of the etf. You should have a receipt as well from the apple store

Leaving a trail? Not if you use VPN for your torrenting.
You still leave a trail to the VPN and as long as the VPN is in the US or Canada or somewhere that has a treaty with the US for foreign service of process, someone can get your IP address from the VPN.

Now if the VPN keeps no records at all of IP addresses, that would help but you have no way of knowing what records they are keeping and I assure you that they do keep records to protect themselves from threats to their system.

For those of you using it as home internet, what modems are you using with your sim card? Is there a modem that can ouput to ethernet cord or is it strictly wifi only?

I will be doing CradlePoint MBR1400 + USB modem route. Should be here next week. Will report back.

I think you can use Novatel T1114 too.

Both has Ethernet connections.

HoFo is the best source for this.

wow, whole set up is kinda expensive, modem + router.

nevermind just need to know where to look and what to look for..... retail is kinda, expensive.

Cradlepoint MBR1400 with usb Pantech UML295 is a great enterprise class router with external antenna capabilities for the 4g and WiFi

Jetpack works great for basic home WiFi / 4g access but MBR gives you full router options and you can always take the usb Pantech UML295 with you when you travel

So do you simply insert an active UDP sim into the router and its good to go? Sorry, complete newb to 4G routers.

How do the employee discounts work with the nationwide plans with UDP? Is the discount applied to everything - talk, text and data?

depends on your employee discount. My wife gets

20% FEATURE DSCNT - ACCOUNT on eligible features
15.00% Voice Access Discount for <snip>
employees on eligible lines.

So 15% on plans and 20% for Unlimited Data Plan add-on.

Just get a $30 mifi from eBay. If you need ethernet connection get a powerline adapter. Total setup more or less than $60.

I'm in the target market for you guys unloading the UDPs...I'm an AT&T customer and interested in making the switch.

So here's the question....I understand I need to have an actual Verizon phone in order to AOL the UDP plan to before I get started. My preference is to deal with a reputable local source for the phone. I do understand I'll have to pay full retail price for it. Unfortunately, Verizon won't sell me a phone and SIM...they say I have to have an account first. Is there a way around this or any suggested way to get the phone first? (my preference is not to deal with eBay/Craigslist/Swappawhatever).

Buy a phone at apple, to get the phone and sim and return it. Like a cheap iPhone 5c or 5s. The phones are sent back to the factory to be refurbished so the IMEI and ESN numbers change.
