iPhones are officially gay....

well CEO is. . .
NTTAWWT. Frankly, Jobs never struck me as a raging heterosexual.

What I don't understand is being proud of one's sexual orientation. I am not anymore proud to be heterosexual than I am to be blue-eyed. I had no say in either of those immutable characteristics. I am proud of my actions because I choose those.

it gives you a fixed net address so you can locate / access your ip cams / home controls / servers etc
Thanks - you mean locate/access them remotely, correct? Sorry never used surveillance equipment but I am thinking of doing it so just trying to learn.

there many options that will work well but I like adding a usb modem (Pantech UML295 because it has 2 external antenna ports) to a Cradlepoint router (MBR95, MBR1200, MBR1200b, MBR1400) because it offers external antenna capabilities and you can take the usb modem with you if you travel so it becomes a dual purpose UDP line

Not a lot UML295 out there. Hopefully UML290 can do good job until I can find cheap UML295

I have Dropcam. It'll send me message if any movement and I can view it live. I don't sign the cloud recording though. It's pretty easy to configure.

I also have Simplisafe alarm system. Still waiting for great alarm system without monthly subscription. Still doing research on iSmartAlarm.

I have a friend of mine who is going to add a new UDP line to his account and AOL it to me along with giving me the new Iphone 6, but I would like to sell the Iphone 6 asap. I just want the UDP line but I need the Iphone profit to cover an ETF i will incur when i cancel another separate line.

My understanding as for the best way to do this is to NOT activate the new Iphone 6 on the AOL line (since i will be selling the Iphone 6) but to remove the sim card from the new Iphone and sell it without the sim card. Is this correct?

Now in order to activate the new UDP line while it is still on his account, should my friend use a 4g lte spare phone he has lying around THEN after the line has been activated with the old phone, then transfer the line to me (along with the old phone), OR should/can he transfer it to me without a phone attached and activated, and then I can attach a phone once its been AOL'd to my account?

Basically, should the new line be activated with a spare phone then transferred or transferred then activated with another phone (4G LTE compatible of course)?

Hope i am making myself clear on this question...

Basically what you should do is get the phone activated with the sim that comes in it. Then get it aol'd over to you. Then put the phone you're actually going to use on the line, and sell the phone.

You still leave a trail to the VPN and as long as the VPN is in the US or Canada or somewhere that has a treaty with the US for foreign service of process, someone can get your IP address from the VPN.

Now if the VPN keeps no records at all of IP addresses, that would help but you have no way of knowing what records they are keeping and I assure you that they do keep records to protect themselves from threats to their system.

Yes of course you are correct about this. I was referring to the threatening cease and desist emails customers of certain cable ISPs receive. I don't have a concern about governments getting my IP from my VPN provider since all I am doing is downloading tv shows and movies. I highly doubt my Canadian VPN provider is giving out my IP to media companies or the law firms they hire.

Okay, easy enough, thanks!

One last question, when I sell the Iphone 6, should i sell it WITH the sim card it came with or should i remove the sim card before and sell it without the card...I wasn't sure if allowing the sim card to stay inside the phone when sold would cause any problems down the road when the buyer wants to activate it on THEIR line (whatever that may be UDP or not) ?

Thanks again.

No, that's your SIM card to use for your unlimited data line.. They buyer needs to get their own SIM card

What If i choose to use an Android 4G LTE phone on that new UDP line, will the Iphone 6 sim card I keep fit into that Android phone and work? I want to attach and use an LG G2 on the unlimited line once its up and running but I'm not sure the Iphone 6 sim card will fit?

If not, just get a SIM card adapter. Iphone used nano sim, you can buy SIM card adapters very cheap on Amazon to make it work for you

He can. He has to enter IMEI & SimID in myVErizon online when activate/switch device.

Okay great, I will either get an adapter or do the above method. Thanks a lot!

To piggy-back off this real quick, If i already have the android phone activated on my account with a line attached, can I just swap the Iphone 6 with the Android phone via myverizon and will it take care of everything for me (e.g. Iphone 6 now on old line and Android phone now on new UDP line) ?

Or is it safer/better to just remove the Iphone 6 from the new UDP line entirely and attach the Android phone to the UDP line via the above method (involving IMEI & SimID info)?

Sorry for so many questions...

I could be wrong, but your case seems to be fairly unique. It seems for most, the line doesn't show up until activated? I recently got shipping notification from apple earlier this week, and my apple order history shows the phone number that it will be issued, but when i log into myverizon, there's no indication of a new line. I was previously on a single line plan, but switched to a family plan (with still only one active line on it) just to take advantage of this apple add an unlimited data line. I am crossing my fingers the activation goes through and the line shows up with UDP and I wont have to deal with a return.

I think you're correct, my situation is apparently unique and I have no idea why. Most people are able to activate and the line then shows up fine as UDP as long as they are close to the original arrival date as stated by apple when they ordered the phone.

There were some who were unable to activate possibly because the phone arrived weeks earlier than apple anticipated. Some got that resolved, some returned the phone and *then* the line showed up. But as long as you're close to the original arrival date (and the servers aren't overloaded, in which case you'd just keep trying) you'll be fine.

SIm Adapter

There are good and bad sim adapters. I like the German made adapters from microsim-shop. Their shipping is very quick from overseas.

Standard disclaimer, no affiliation or interests in the company, just a satisfied customer.

It's not the government you have to worry about.

I am not talking about them giving it out of their own free will. I am talking about them being forced to give it out b/c of a court order.

While true, I would never trust a buyer I don't know to do this correctly. I never ship a phone with a SIM card that has been active on my line. Many buyers don't even want the SIM cards b/c they are shipping these phones overseas.

Sorry for so many questions...
If you currently have a TDP line you are going to terminate with an Android phone on it, what I would do is this:

1) Activate the iP6 on the new UDP line and then have your buddy AOL it to you;
2) Once it is in your account and you have confirmed the UDP, do a switch device online b/t the TDP line and the new UDP line to put the Android on your UDP line and the iP6 on the TDP line;
3) Port the TDP line's number to page plus using the IMEI of the iP6 - this will terminate the TDP line;
4) Port the number back to the UDP line; and
5) Sell the iP6 without the SIM card.

The iPhones do not use NFC SIM cards and the Androids do.

Are you positive you picked unlimited iPhone and not the 2GB plan by accident?

Even bakery reps are incompetent. I want yellow cake and one rep says they only have white cake and another rep yes they indeed have yellow cake

Has this been an issue with the 6 & 6+ only? What about having the 5s shipped to home when adding an UDP line?

The phone ordered was a 5s, add a line, shipped to home. I have a single line plan, UDP, 900 minutes with 250 Text for $5 and was trying to just add the basic single line plan.

When you ship to home, when does the added line show up on your verizon account? After you activate it?

My phone arrived on a Wednesday and I did not open the box to activate it until Sunday. There was no pending activation on my account.

I can't answer about after activation since mine would not activate.

When you have an individual plan (450 or 900 minutes) and you add a line, don't you get forced into a family share plan?

Is it ok to buy these USB modems used or can they get blacklisted somehow?

Well I have a 5S that's supposed to arrive tomorrow afternoon so I guess I'll find out then. I was just wondering since this is the first "Add-a-Line" through Apple that I have done.

5S arrived today via UPS. Activated over WIFI & as soon as I logged into my Verizon Account the new line was there. So no issues here using the add-a-line with a 5S 32 GB & activating it via WIFI with the SIM that came in the phone from Apple. Also my account still shows to be UDP & my voice & text has not changed.
