If I AOL a line with the 700 nationwide plan, can I eventually make that into a family plan by adding a dumb phone line with it? Just trying to see how I can get out of my current 550 family plan.

What is your current line situation? You need to AOL the 700 min NW plan into a subaccount b/c you can't have 2 family share plans in the same account.

----------

What happens then - do you get another 450 or 900 minute individual plan with UDP?

I currently have the 550 nationwide family share. Text is extra per line at 10 each. Not too familiar with how sub accounts work.
Can I AOL it in my wife's name who currently holds a prepaid line in her name (for her mom)

Do you have a UDP line on the 550 family share? Is your end goal just to get rid of the 550 plan or do you want to keep it?

what did you do at the end about porting? page plus?

Well....I called back again after over 24 hrs. I think I may have called too soon and perhaps that's why I ran into issues. The process should have been smooth as I had done it for another line and it went fine with no issues in a few hours. The difference here is that I had a PDI on that line and the line was marked suspended. When I called verizon again they processed an immediate cancellation of the line and that moved things along. I just had to wait, it seems.

Does anyone have a lead on someone who will take lines, free of course, that they are willing to share? Msg me privately please.

Explosion of Inventory today in SOCAL..

the whole SOCAL region got inundated with stock of 6+ today, I personally added 10 lines online and picked up the phones. I think I am out after todays score (i am sure this is a lie)

If I can certainly upgrade to a 700 one then I'll definitely take it. My contract end dates on my data lines are May and Nov. I'm guessing I'm able to move the lines from one plan to another?
But yes, if I can get rid of the 550 plan I will. Thanks.

You aren't answering my questions. How many lines do you have on your 550 plan? How may have UDP? Describe your line situation - data, off/on contract, etc. Do you want to move to a NW 700 FS plan?

Sorry.
Line 1 - TDP - under contract 11/2015 - mine
Line 2 - UDP - under contract 5/2015 - hers
Line 3 - dumb phone - out of contract - can be terminated

Most definitely interested in moving to a NW 700 FS plan.

Well this is easy then just call the AOL department and tell them to switch you to the NW 700 minute plan with either payg, 1000 or UL texts and to leave the data plans unchanged. Then you will be able to add a new UDP line via apple.com.

You can keep the new UDP line suspended w/o billing for 6 months and use the TDP line until you are closer to your TDP line's contract end date if you want to minimize the etf of the TDP line. Or you can terminate the TDP and pay the etf as soon as you get the new UDP line.

Once you are ready to terminate the TDP line, you can port your TDP line's number to page plus to terminate it then port the number back to the new UDP line.

Cost will be $170/mo for 2 UDP lines and a basic line. I would keep the basic line for upgrade transfers. You can use neomits method to use the basic line's upgrade to get a new iPhone and either keep it or sell it to pay for the cost of the basic line for 2 years.

Are you positive it actually brings down the ETF when you suspend a line? I thought you had to be actively paying on the line?

No, what I am saying is that he keeps the TDP line active for 6 more months to reduce the etf of the TDP line by $10/mo. During that time he keeps the new UDP line suspended w/o billing.

Or he can just pay the etf for the TDP line as soon as he adds a new UDP line and be done with it. That is what I would do. He has 1 more year on the TDP line so his etf is going to be about $230 if he terminates now. If he waits 6 months to terminate it, it will only be $170. However he will have to deal with a TDP line for his data use during that time.

The other thing he could try is to put a basic phone on the TDP line and drop the data plan on it. Then in 1 billing cycle, terminate the line and see if he gets the basic line etf instead of the smartphone line etf. I think I mentioned here that I added a TDP line, dropped the data plan and put a basic phone on the line for a billing cycle then terminated the line. They only charged me an etf of $170, which was the $175 basic line etf - $5 for the month I kept the line. Don't know if that was a fluke or not.

Edited original post to clarify what I was talking about.

I don't even know what to say to this:

eBay buyer:
"Very disappointed to see you selling the same plan I paid $150 for at the price of $5.99. I want some sort of refund."

Umm.. Sense of entitlement much? You agreed to the eBay contract - deal with it. This isn't Walmart... I don't have a Price Match Guarantee

Wtf.

----------

So, this was how I responded...

Hello, thanks for contacting me.

As you know, markets do change, and at the time that the line was sold for $150.00, the going rate was much higher than even $150.00

There are much more unlimited data lines right now than there were when you purchased, which drove the price down. I don't offer a price match guarantee with any of my sales, the price agreed upon is the price for the product offered.

The price agreed was $150.00, then that's the price. 3 months ago I actually bought an unlimited data plan for over $500.00 - I guess that's just the way things happen.

I'm sorry you feel that you deserve a refund, but we have both done our parts here. You did your part by paying the amount agreed upon, and I did my part by providing the service.

Mark

Not a lot UML295 out there. Hopefully UML290 can do good job until I can find cheap UML295

lots of UML295 available for $60 on ebay just make the seller an offer, he was selling for $55 a week ago

----------

5S arrived today via UPS. Activated over WIFI & as soon as I logged into my Verizon Account the new line was there. So no issues here using the add-a-line with a 5S 32 GB & activating it via WIFI with the SIM that came in the phone from Apple. Also my account still shows to be UDP & my voice & text has not changed.

the sweet nectar of success I'll have my Plus 128gb SG tomorrow so my fingers are crossed

----------

----------

Did you look at the 3gstore? It is where I purchased my UML295 last month and the cradlepoint router a few years ago.

__

I bought 3 new mbr1400's off the bay today for $200 each and missed one for $199 on an offer this morning that the seller got $249 to a sucker / greater fool. There is a nice used unit currently listed for $195 or offer that the seller will take $185 for with free shipping which is a great deal

----------

wow, whole set up is kinda expensive, modem + router.
--------------------
nevermind just need to know where to look and what to look for..... retail is kinda, expensive.

not a cheap setup but it will rock your world! $300 should cover a used mbr1400, a Pantech UML295, external antenna adapter and a Wilson Cellular Trucker external antenna. No sense having a rocking system like this w/o the external antenna to grab and transmit max signal for max banbwidth / pipe

I'm eliminating my archaic and slow Qwest DSL lines I've been using for ip cam security which will save $60 per month per location so almost enough to cover the UDP lines with my biz discount

Is there anyway I can port my number over from ATT to Verizon as a new customer and purchase an AOL on eBay and transfer the UDP to a new line? Or should I purchase an unlocked iPhone 6plus first and then purchase a UDP, then port my number over? I have a 6+ already with ATT, but I am tired of them throttling me after 5gb.

Your response was on point but can you imagine how these people feel who didn't know what was going on and bought at the peak, lol!

What you need to do is buy a Verizon 4G LTE device of your choice, AOL a Verizon UDP line and put the Verizon 4G LTE device on the new UDP line. Then port your ATT number to the Verizon UDP line to terminate the ATT line. Then sell the ATT iP6+.
