No cards

Ok, so I had the connect to iTunes Store proble, solved by the change the date fix.
Now, downloaded, Walgreens and target.
Now, opening passbook continues to only offer to send you to the iTunes Store,, the two cards don't show up in passbook as cards. How do you get them to display?

To get coupons into Passbook from Target:

1. Open the Target app
2. Go to My Target
3. Go to Mobile Coupons
4. Choose your coupon (at this time there's only one, good for several offers)
5. Scroll down and tap "Add to Passbook"
6. Tap Add on the coupon that comes up to add it to Passbook

Target isn't sending me a text in part 2 of coupon setup. Any recommendations?

Passbook location awareness work for iPhone 4?

I successfully loaded some coupons into Passbook on my iPhone 4. I wanted to try out the location awareness feature of Passbook, but nothing happened when I walked into Target or Walgreens.

Location Services is turned on and activated for the passbook app.

Is the location aware feature not available on iPhone 4?

For Canadians...

Sorry for the silly question but when I click the App Store within Passbook I'm taken to a page in the App Store where it currently only lists 5 apps:

Cineplex
Live Nation
Lufthansa
Sephora to Go
Ticketmaster

Am I missing Target and the other apps mentioned in this thread because I'm in Canada? I take it Passbook is location-based, so that when I'm in the US I would see the other Passbook-enabled apps?

You can just search for Target and download it, I'm using the US iTunes Store while in Canada, I simply searched for Cineplex mobile and downloaded it.

For some reason when I click the App Store button within Passbook I still get the error "Cannot connect to iTunes Store".

Sorry if this has been covered already, but can someone explain how to get a coupon or boarding pass to show up on my lock screen? I can't figure it out...

Right now I have a target coupon in my passbook, and I have it set to show on the lock screen, but no idea how to get it to actually show.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!! :D

Ok, thanks. So it sounds like it is indeed location specific, which is why I couldn't find Target or some of the others as I don't currently have access to the US iTunes store.

Mine's working rather well! Hopefully the third party support steps it up in the next few weeks so I can fill this up some more!

I'm really rather shocked by how bad Passbook really is... after the keynote, this was my family's "killer feature".

My wife and I thought that we would have a list of "Passbooks" to pick from, which at first glance is what we expected (once we did the date trick, of course.. which is a whole other story). When we downloaded the MLB app, it said that it only works at a few parks (none of which are close to us). We downloaded the Ticketmaster app and none of the venues that use Passbook are close to us. Really the only one we got to work was Walgreens and Sephora. I never could figure out Fandango.. We eventually got Target's to work too after 10 minutes of research, but geez... I guess I was expecting something completely different with Passbook.

What I expected:
-Download the "passbook" for whatever store you want. Pick from a list.
-Sign in to your store's account and pull down your card.

1) You shouldn't have to download and store any app at all.
2) AT LEAST have the apps on board by launch time that were showed at the Keynote... starbucks anyone?? Hell, right now on apple.com, they are showing off the starbucks card front and center!

I haven't even tried Apple Maps yet. From what I can tell, that's probably a good thing.

But hey, I can post directly to facebook from the notification center! woohoo! /s

Supposedly they can show up based on location or time. So presumably it will pop up when you approach a target. For something like a show ticket, it might pop up the day of, or near the time the concert starts or if you approach the venue.

I can't get target to show me coupons, everytime I try in the app it asks for my cell phone for texting of the coupons....this is annoying.

even if pass source was the best way to make passbook work, i have no idea what the barcode information is asking you.

Are you trying to make your own card or are you using the templates Pass Source has made?

I made 3 cards using the templates (BB Rewardzone, Petsmart, and CVS) and I didn't have an issue. If you have the physical card, follow that for reference.

Has anyone read the terms of service of pass source. The guy asks you nicely not to sue him and that all you info isn't secure but he will try. Lol

I wasn't looking for anyone in particular, just was confused.

but I was wondering if you could do loyalty rewards card where you get points for each purchase and then get the reward?

I was reticent about doing the BBRZ card because it wants your login info for the site. Not sure how, or if, they store that info.

Other than that, been having fun setting up my store cards with PassSource.

Passbook is slicker than CardStar and could be very useful down the line, have to admit I'm amongst those disappointed at the launch of this app. Not typical for Apple to launch something like this without quite a few participants already lined up.

How do we know pass source is safe?

TOS from Pass Source

"We hate these things. It's horrible that this country has gotten so sue-happy. So our terms are basically this: Please don't sue us! Use of this site is at your own risk. We do not guarante uptime (we do plan on changing this in the future and will do our best to keep it up as much as possible). Your information is not guaranteed to be secure (though we will do our best to keep it secure. Basically we would suggest not including credit card numbers or social security numbers or other similarly sensitive data in your passes.) Don't use this service for life-saving/mission critical purposes (if someone could potentially die from the way you use this service, please don't do it!). Okay, that wasn't so bad.

One more thing! As this is all based on Apple's technology, in order to distribute passes, you must agree and adhere to Apple's terms of use for Passbook. If you have a professional account and are using your Apple Developer credentials, then the terms can be found in the member center. If you need help setting up your certificates to sign your passes, please contact us. Reminder: Make sure you include your name and address, and contact information on the backside of your passes."
