Well this sucks, I dont want to download an app for every loyalty store card I have. As usual we'll have to wait on the jailbreak community to add features to an app that Apple couldn't or just chose not to.

Yes but we are trying to get the official Starbucks app to work not a self created one using pass source.
Starbucks need to update their app and I'm sure they will soon.

He made the card himself at pass source.

Yes but this method works as I have already used it. I'm sure more companies will be onboard soon with PassBook. Although some apps already allow you to scan your phone like Starbucks or United Airlines. Why would you need passbook to use this feature if the app already does this? And since we have to download the app in order to use passbook, this whole process seems redundant.

How did you get Starbucks in passbook? I can't figure it out.

You have to create it yourself, online via http://www.passsource.com/ or http://passk.it/. If you don't want to do that you have to wait patiently. Starbucks has yet to update their iOS app to support Passbook, but they will eventually.

I also think many are missing the point of why Apple implemented Passbook. Think of Passbook as the "Game Center" for retail. Apple made Passbook to support developers first and foremost. To get Apple customers to spend more money.

When Game Center first went live, there were not a lot of games that supported it. Now today most games support (or at least try) Game Center. Passbook will get the same support. You just have to be patient and allow these companies to build in the Passbook api to their iOS apps.

After all that is what this is all about. Pushing iOS apps, helping developers create more ways to sell their wares and creating an ecosystem that keeps getting bigger and bigger. I must say this is one reason Google Play and Microsoft have lesser app ecosystems at the moment. They rarely build in features to support developers with software and hardware. That is Apple's bread and butter and what sells their hardware at this point.

So how do you get back to the compatible apps in the app store from Passbook? I clicked on app store app and I don't see the apps for passbook. When I open passbook all it shows is the three cards I created.

but I was wondering if you could do loyalty rewards card where you get points for each purchase and then get the reward?

Looks like its possible. The BB card asks for a log in (not sure what Pass Source does with that though ) but it keeps track and updates points/rewards.

Looks like apps like thin wallet are planning to integrate with passbook. This would allow you to manage loyalty cards in one app and send them to passbook, cuts down on overhead. I'm assuming it will work like Belly where you send each store you want. When I click on Belly in Passbook I can cycle through all my Belly cards.

Has anyone had luck adding American Airlines to Passbook? They say they've updated but i can't figure out how to add it. Do you have to have a flight coming up in the next 24 hours to add it? Thanks!
Annalise:)

Pretty sure you would need a current boarding pass.
Your aadvantage card doesn't not show.

I don't have any trip within 24 hours so I can't be 100% sure, but I'd think that when you do the mobile check-in you would have an option to add the boarding pass to passbook. I'd love to add my AAdvantage or MileagePlus member card to passbook though.

Thanks. I have a flight in a few days, so I'll try it then. I was hoping it would just show up with my AA info so I could delete the app. oh well.

For some reason when I click the App Store button within Passbook I still get the error "Cannot connect to iTunes Store".

Same here. You can rig it to work by setting ur system clock one year in the future but I refuse to do it because Apple should fix this on their own!

Here is my passbook. I know these are old movies, but I wanted to see what it looked like.

I can verify that United Airlines doesn't work as of now.
I caught a flight this morning but yet passbook refuses to update and show anything other than the associated apps.
Bummer and fail Apple.

I made two with passsource for Target gift cards and they both worked at the register last week.
