How about that internet access?I am watching Apple TV+ on my big new Samsung TV. It’s a free app.
To push the half baked entertainment services. It's all about the subscription services. Why does Apple buy exclusive rights just to give it away for free? They don't. They have a reason.
Internet access - remember Ajit Pai, the FCC and Elon Musk?Ok but watch it for free on Apple TV instead of broadcast? There’s no paywall. I see no issue.
If you have internet access.Apple tv app available through most smart tv's now.
You pay by watching the sponsor's advertisements. Like on the cable tv that you pay for every month but originally was supposed to be ad free because you paid for it. But, you pay for it twice where OTA watchers only pay for it once. This seems to be a segment of fans that doesn't want to pay at all.
It's not that we don't know the difference. We don't care and don't want to care. We don't want anything to do with Apple's TV stuff. I'm sure some people will like it, but they can keep it. Imagine if this story had "Apple" replaced with "Microsoft" or something. The issue is the exclusive rights, not Apple TV as a service. My favorite part of all of this…
If you can can sign an online petition, you already posses the tech to watch the Peanuts Specials for free! Apple TV+ even works in a web browser!
A lot of the misplaced anger is coming from people who don't know the difference from "Apple TV" the hardware and "Apple TV" the app. But, frankly, that's Apple Marketing's fault for naming things the way they did. The general public is confused over what their product is. Quite a few folks I've encountered think you need to buy an Apple TV to watch the Peanuts specials.
Hmm, it's been on the air on two major networks for 50 years.what if broadcasters don't want to air it?
I'm protesting because not all the US has internet access - it's not mandated by the government. But OTA tv is and that's how a lot of people would watch these specials. And what about Public television? Should Ebenezer Cook make people pay to access that? The internet is pay tv like cable. There was a time when you could do family genealogy on the 'net for free until the government when privatized and you now have to pay Ancestry to access"public" records. My favorite part of all of this…

Brundlefly? No memory? We'll keep that in mind when you lose your position.Who cares about what was in the past? Now that it's not, people need to get over it and deal with it.
There are two sides to the deal, so both, but more so CB.Isn’t this really the owners of CB’s problem? Not apple’s. I guess they could give apples money if they were stupid.
Don't think this will happen. A larger percentage of movies is "1 and done" while music is constant.Honestly people just have to suck it up. So many streaming services makes exclusive deals for shows, its the new normal.
But I would wish that streaming's film and series had evolved more like the music streaming services where its features and not content there is the factor for deciding what to use.
AppleTV+ is available on Roku, FireTV, a bunch of SmartTVs and PC. I have noticed Android app is available but not sure if it's on Google PlayI am not sure how this works for someone who is not into Apple at all, not a Mac, not an iPad, not an iPhone. How does that person watch this? That is who the petition is for, and such people are the ones frustrated at this development.
Ah! but these so-called fans wait until the holidays when the DVDs go up in price. LOL100,000 morons.
Just buy the DVD already. No commercials and you can watch it when you want....without an internet connection.
Checkout reelgood.com it's a great service to find who is streaming a show/movieHa, meanwhile I whine when I can't get something through a streaming platform since I finally cancelled cable. It's very few things these days... I can't remember the last time I watched a Peanuts special though, probably not since I was a kid.
Don't forget cable access cause unless you are hugging ABC antenna you ain't getting squat! While "free" access seems to address the issues, the requirement of a particular set of hardware platforms for these classic shows is a deeply exclusionary process for the least affluent segments of society. It's easy to forget that there are many people who don't have smart TV or smart phone access if you're on a site like this, and sadly that is the root of exclusionary bias/practices.
But I don't have a DVD player! /sJust buy a DVD or Blu-ray if you really want to see it . They are widely available and fairly cheap . I seen them at Walgreens or Best Buy for like $5
A lot of that stuff is long gone already. 1 show isnt going to help. The only two that survive are the Honeymooners and Twilight Zone marathons plus a couple of the claymation movies.IDK if many are really focused on Peanuts in particular. Around Christmas time or other holidays, it's fun to leave local TV on because they play a lot of classics, Peanuts included. So it's sad that one is gone. I'll go sign it if it's quick.
True. But some people just like tradition. And they know certain shows are on certain networks at certain times of the year. Or they’re just not into the Apple ecosystem. Since Apple is offering this free they could still allow ABC to show it. I highly doubt A Charlie Brown Christmas in going to bring in new Apple TV+ subscribers. As was mentioned in the article, you don't have to pay for the streaming service to watch this for free.
I remember it because of the great music and it‘s one of the only holiday shows that actually mentions the birth of Christ. The Christmas and Halloween shows owe a lot to the amazing jazz soundtrack from the Vince Guaraldi Trio. People remember the music, especially from the Christmas show, more than the show itself.
Well that and Linus reciting the 2nd chapter of Luke.
Wow never thought I would read a line like that.Never liked Charlie Brown. Show sucked.
