Well, I went to Best Buy after I couldn’t get my order in. And I had a 11/3 pick up date too, but didn’t really trust Best Buy to delivery on that date.

Learned of this Reservation System and when my confirmation came in... decided to cancel my Best Buy order since I did it under the Next Program (which was a huge mistake on my part). It eventually gave me my eligibility back.

But the reservation system didn’t read my eligibility, just gave me the option to pay in full... which wasn’t my intended purpose.

This is exactly what happened to me. I cancelled another order to fulfill my preorder, but got AT&T to restore my eligibility for Next, but then Apple told me they couldn't fulfill the pre-order because they could not do the eligibility check again. While I was on the phone with the rep, I tried a new order and was able to qualify, but they couldn't change the reservation. Had to let my reservation go and order new. I ordered from AT&T and now have a delivery date of 11/27-12/04.

My reservation was never turned into an order and then disappeared. I called and registered complaints, CSRs took my info ... and then magically my reservation came back alive. Still no email to confirm and no call back from a manager.

Waiting on my ASA to give me updates. At this point I got her everything she needed. She says she getting stuff together for my case.

I ordered at about 3:15 AM EST on Friday, and had not received any response.
I was ATT Next.

Well, I had called and chatted Friday, Saturday, even Yesterday. I had more or less given up.

Then...
I finally got an email yesterday afternoon, much to my surprise. I put the order in, and my shipping date came up as Nov. 3rd, and it is preparing to ship as we speak. I was shocked to say the least, but at least this confirms that they are trying to get everything straightened out.

Att next and IUP?

Just ATT Next.

Tried my luck with a chat exec but they didn’t budge

I've noticed that most of the unresolved issues I'm seeing now resolve around the IUP.

I know someone who selected IUP instead of ATT Next, and getting it switched is apparently some kind of monumental task. I know Apple was clearing up some of the IUP issues where the application failed, or the bank wasn't accepting requests for some reason.

Still, a lot of issues still lingering considering it's day 4 after the pre-orders opened.

Called Apple explaining the rep all the issues I had for 25 mins expecting some bump up in delivery dates.

He was not budging and then he went on a pause and disconnected. Lol

My issue is:

1. tried preorder at midnight pacific time (Oct 27, ~1210)
2. preorder failed, got reservation message in apple store app (Oct 27, ~1210)
3. placed another panic preorder for 2-3 week delivery (Oct 27, ~1215)
4. several hours later, got both reservation emails (Oct 27, ~0200)
5. canceled panic preorder (Oct 27, ~0210)
6. tried to purchase via reservation, which was for Nov 3, but only got option to pay full price (Oct 27, ~0300)
7. by Friday evening, reservation page gave error message: "Your request couldn’t be processed. We’re sorry, but there was an error processing your request. Please try again later." (Oct 27, ~1800)
8. Saturday afternoon pacific time, reservation expired
9. placed new, post-expired reservation preorder for 5-6 weeks

The reservation cached the AT&T next eligibility at the time the system created and sent the first reservation email. The bug appears to be that Apple's servers DID NOT CHECK AT&T NEXT ELIGIBILITY when we try to complete the reservation and place an order.

Apple messed up.

what does this mean?? a reservation for the phone?? I'm lost.. thanks
This is how I got mine for delivery on Nov 3rd. But then I went to order my wife's and it just kept erroring out until finally I got to the iUP application page... but then the application failed and I was told not to place an order until I got an email about the status. 5 hours or so later I got an application failed email and I had to place the order again. December 11-18 ship date.

Then I got another email asking if I placed a new order for the failed app, and if so to provide the order number. I did that, and within hours, the Dec 11 ship date was moved up to a delivery date of Nov 17-24!

Ticks me off that the Apple Store pre-orders became live at 1:03AM in Colorado, and I got errors ordering right up until I got a reservation at 1:12AM, but they didn't hold my 11/3 pickup and set me for delivery 11/17-11/24, while some others on ATT who got a reservation screen after me are getting theirs on 11/3.

Totally agree. I'm in the same situation I was getting errors for more than 5 minutes while the initial screen showed 11/3. So annoying

Also AT&T but I wanted IUP because I don't want AT&T Next. I like my unlimited data too much. Everyone I know that switched off it wishes they hadn't.

I couldn't get into the Apple Store on two desktop browsers and two iPhones using the app and Safari. My wife got right in on her phone and in 2 minutes had an 11/3 store pickup as an existing IUP participant for her new phone. So I grabbed her phone and used it to do my reservation and the phone qualification part went right through but of course the Citizens Bank enrollment burped and told me not to order again and I'd get an answer within 8 hours. Instead Apple answered in around 2 and told me to place a new order. I can't seem to get them to take my case seriously. The email I received never promised I'd keep my place in line (had 11/3 release store pickup). I'm still angry. I'd just like one within the first two weeks of November but Apple isn't budging. Wonder if they use custom built servers they developed or Dell, HP, Lenovo etc? Whatever the case they suck! Or their developers missed exception conditions. Sigh. The wait til 12/11-12/18 is a challenge

Here's a screenshot of the bull crap I encountered applying for IUP during the preorder process

I’m so happy I found this thread. I thought it was the only one, it seems like others have it way worse than I.

My story is the following. I got up on pre-order day I had my phone ordered by 1:15 AM, I have a screenshot of this. At 3:37 AM I got an email that told me my phone had been reserved. At 10:20 AM I got another email telling me to complete my order which would be the credit check. At 11:57 AM my order had been completed. I’m upset because I was told the iUP wouldn’t delay my order. I wonder if paying for it cash would have changed anything.

I’m in the 2-3week zone.

I’ve called a handful of times
2 reps basically repeated my story back to me and weren’t apologetic. Another hung up on me. At this point I’ll just wait. Not worth my time.

2-3 week is good from where I sit with 5-6. :(

I know exactly where the Apple Call center is located. I used to work for the company that provided their customer service (outsourced); though they did not have the contract when I worked for them, but former work colleagues and friends talk. I wish I could just stop in and make my case; show them my evidence. LOL

I had the issue where my payment method was not correct in my reservation and it caused me a delay untill december.

I emailed tim cooks public email and executive relations reached out to me and fixed the order. My reservation at 3:16 am is now getting delivered on release day.

Hope this helps some of you guys

faced same situation, emailed Tim Cook. Lets see. May not happen, but nothing wrong in hoping.

Goodluck guys!

Thanks! Ya never know. If he sees it or one of his response team it may help them improve their ordering process programming. I used my wife's iPhone with her Apple Store app (after she successfully placed a preorder minutes before). A possibility is that her AppleID somehow caught a gotcha in the order process when I attempted to apply for IUP with my own information in the preorder process. It might be something Apple developers hadn't tested\considering someone to try. I'd love to reclaim the instore 11/3 pickup, as opposed to be stuck with 12/11-12/18. If it's impossible to anything immediately I would be fine if it were before vacation on 11/19, but it feels like wishful thinking at this point. On the plus side at least my wife got hers for 11/3. If the situation were reversed it would be a much worse experience (for me). LOL

Yeah this one was for my mom, and i had to do her iup order on my phone. Same thing happened here, got citizens one denial, and evenutally a reservation code made at 3:16 am while trying to check out verizon upgrade program.

The person i spoke with at executive relations asked me to forward all of the reservation and denial emails, and within a few hours i saw the delivery date change. Hopefully you will have the same process.

Now i dont have to open my brand new phone infront of her and get jealous looks
