On the phone with support agent #8. Being told to call back closer to my reservation expiration time and to keep trying between now and then. This is ridiculous. If I go try to create a new order now, it pulls the correct address from AT&T and also allows the option to edit it on the checkout page. Why can't I do the same with a reservation???

I think they do this to speed up the process. Only thing you can do is confirm your order, that’s about it. Confirm it and submit it.

Although it’s great idea to implement this reservation system, it’s flawed when you can’t make changes to it.
 
Yep just got verification from support rep #10 that reservations are a "snapshot" and can't be edited.

Yeah, I plan on letting mine expire.

Not my intentions on paying full price, going to hope for the best Friday and see if there’s a chance of getting one, granted it’s slight at best. But imma give it a go..

Just got off the phone yet again. Reservations are uneditable. If you cant complete your reservation youre screwed. Get ready to re-order after noon PDT and watch as all the people with 2-4 week shipping times get bumped up.

I got a nov 3rd in store pickup date, and then the reservation screen. When the email came I can't complete the reservation because my ATT billing address is a PO box. Was told yesterday to change it and wait. Now we're told the reservations are not going to update, that if you changed your address after the fact that you're SOL - all this despite me having chosen in store pickup and all my addresses shipping/billing lining up in the online store and the app and ATT.

100% what's about to happen. MacRumors may even write a post saying "Second wave of iPhone X preorders get bumped to release day delivery" and never even mention it was because Apple's reservation system took a major dump. Who knows how many people kept getting the runaround from chat and phone support, they just want to say whatever they think will get us off the phone/chat.

Ugh that hurts. Hope you can work it out somehow to at least a shorter wait or something. I think after 12PST a lot of orders will be bumped up.

But I thought when you completed the reservation purchase there was an area to edit the shipping and billing information? (At least that's what I had when I followed the reservation link) I also had Nov 3 in store pick up but lost it with the whole reservations thing. Ended up going with ATT.

Another reservation lost due to the PO box that was listed on my ATT account at the time of the reservation... I've spent all morning on the phone with ATT and Apple and neither can help

I feel your pain. I emailed tim about it too, lol. Lot of good that will do. I just checked my reservation and its not showing any different info than before 12 PDT. Odd, i expected it to say reservation expired or something.

Well, it practically did acknowledging your cut-off time... but I assume you was under the impression that the reservation wouldn’t even exist.

Oh, well... I was highly hyped and excited. Now, totally disappointed... now, I gotta wait until Friday.
 
I have a 12:08 preorder in this bucket but still haven’t received an email. Anyone else in this boat or have been in it to help provide guidance?

I think I feel a little better about the ordering situation. I wasted a lot of time trying to get Apple to honor my reservation that I made around 12:06am PDT on 10/27. It was not honored due to me having a PO Box as my billing address with AT&T. I spent 2 1/2 hours on the phone with AT&T and Apple on Friday trying to get them to fix the issue.

In the meantime, on Friday I ordered a Silver 64GB IPhone X from Best Buy with a delivery date of 11/10 to my local store. I paid the $100 premium. I noticed tonight that the model number of the phone I have coming from Best Buy is MQA62LL/A. That is the "Sim Free" version. I now understand the "flexibility" comment from Best Buy regarding the extra $100 in the sale price. Their full price phone can be used on all US networks. If I had been successful in ordering the AT&T version from Apple I would have been locked to AT&T or T-Mobile. I think that extra $100 is worth it to me to have a fully unlocked phone that I could switch from AT&T to Verizon at a later date should I so chose. Tonight at 8:40pm Eastern Best Buy is still showing a very reasonable 11/15 delivery date for the silver 64gb IPhone X. I'm hoping that Best Buy is accurate on their delivery dates. If they are I'm covered with no help from Apple. They must get a kickback from AT&T to be so rigid on sending the phone to the billing address on the account. I should be able to ship it to space if I pay full price!!

So still no word on why reservations are so messed up? And if we’ll be taken care of? Anyone know anything?
 
I completed my reservation for the ATT phone, even thought it pushed me back from 11/3 pickup to 2-3 week delivery. Now I'm having second thoughts as my iPhone 7+ works well on iOS 11.0.3 and I'd prefer the SIM free version later IF I upgrade. Who else is canceling?
 
As I mentioned previously in this post, I was in a situation where I did not receive any email with the reservation confirmation or the following email to continue with the order. The only thing I ever saw was a screen notification that there was an order, which I never wrote down the # or took a screen shot. After multiple calls with Apple, and a chat, all noted they have no way to locate the reservation #, I finally got through and had a really nice rep who asked to give it couple hours so maybe an email will still come (which I knew it wouldnt) but also gave me his email contact to follow up later. He then escalated the issue to a manager and they were able to locate my reservation #, but told me it has now expired and there is nothing they could do. I can either place new order with 5-6 weeks wait, or go to the store 11/3 and try my luck....this is really frustrating since I had 11/3 delivery when getting the reservation notification. Lost at what else I can do...

Agreed. That's what I read apple did with customers who had issues with ordering thorough the iPhone upgrade program and they sent emails to these people to order again and to provide the order number so apple can expedite it. Why not doing anything with us?
