Penryn Based Mac Pros Soon?

I can't wait. Although these Pros are expensive they last soooo long.

Any suggestions for a display because if apple doesn't update the ACDs I might want to find another one.
 
it will happen next week guys, I can feel the vibe!:D

My Quad G5 has many, many problems:mad:, Apple already promised a new replacement machine if I send it back to repair. I am waiting for the new MacPro in order to take advantage of the latest. Oh my

Better book your tickets now. Apple is definitely waiting for MWSF to release an update this large. New Mac Pro's and Cinema Displays. Probably redesigned enclosures on both ends. They wouldn't do that as a silent update in the middle of november.
 
Commmonnnnnn stupid apple. I don't want to deal with my macbook as my main computer for another damn month and a half!

but MWSF has been very consumer centric in the past few years. I think the enclosure and displays will still have the same design. So an ordinary Tuesday update will not be an issue.
I think Apple is holding for MWSF for AppleTV 2.0 , iPhone 2.0 and the ultra-portable. we'll see.

I think if Intel is delivering the chips next week, why would Apple hold more than 45 days to introduce such machine. Plus businesses would take advantage of the end of the year tax deductions to buy new machines. I still have high hope for an update this year.

I hope you're right ...It would be really cool to to get my shiny new mac pro before my 2 big december projects are due!!!!

if the displays stay the same I rather plug in my old Dell screen and wait for the new ones...they definitely do look their age now, don't they?! for the case I don't mind, obviously I'd prefer to have a new one, just for the sake of having NEW written all over it :D
 
The ACDs are lovely. Simple and elegant. Maybe they will add a cam, and maybe they won't, but beyond the cam, there is nothing to change.

I agreed, I don't think the current design is bad for either MacPro and ACD's. Sure a new one could be cool, but I would be happy if they just upgrade the damn thing now!:eek:

the design are good.but the specs dont do it for me..

And another Tuesday goes by.....

I'd like to see an updated ACD before I buy two more. Lower price or better specs, one or the other. The ACD's case is beautiful, but I'd like to see where Apple could push it.

They'll stay aluminum - with Steve's explanation of the iMacs going aluminum and all. A dark anodized look would be nice. Not black, just a few shades darker for something new.
 
Well now I know why Apple does not want to release an Core2 Extreme quad-core minitower. :D

We received an hp xw4600 on eval with a single Q6600 QuadCore and this thing runs some serious rings around my xw6400 with two Xeon 5110s on many things.
 
Hopefully they offer some of the 1600FSB chips as options. I'd like to see the 2.8 gig E5470 as an option, with a 1600FSB and only 80 watt TDP. That would be nice.

And, should Apple be reading, we'd like some powerful graphics options from this year, and that do not freeze up and cause lockups (as evidenced in other machines, not the Mac Pro). Thanks. :p

I feel the same way! I was going to buy a 3.0 Quad two weeks ago (it was in my shopping cart!), but before I did I decided to check the rumors. If this is true, I could wait 3 weeks max damn it! :eek:

I hope you mean with the "there is nothing to change" the design of the ACDs..:)
Yup,the design is nice,but feature/performance wise the current ACDs are abysmal..

They really would need a big update.

-Connections. Ok,firewire and usb ports are sweet, baybe 2 more usbs?

BUT they have to get another DVI port! Damn,Lacies new 30" has 2 connectors that can display both inputs at the same time.
For 499$ cheaper.
With a way,way,way better panel.

-The panels. Utterly abysmal panels, compared to its competitors. If Apples 30" display get spanked by Dell,Eizo,Samsung and for chrissake HP (wich beat apple hands down) you really need to change the ballgame.
Apple has the narrowest RGB space of the forementioned displays by far.

And to add to insult, the displays are 50% more expensive..

Dont get me wrong. I love good design. I pay happily for it, hell, I even bought the 30" ACD! But that was a year ago.

It's hard too, I have a major project due at the end of December and need a new machine now. Hopefully we get the update in a few days. I just wish there were better rumors leading up to the 13th, but we haven't seen anything yet. :confused:
 
is it just me having the same feeling as last monday?!...that there's nothing to expect from tomorrow... :p:p:p

maybe multimedia got banned because he was fooling everybody here? :D:D:D

same here... it's annoying but i really need it now :(

just wondering what time of the day would they release it when they do? (would they wait for america to wake up before they release it here in the UK? - ie like 9ish on the US east coast so about 2pm over here?)
 
Does apple normally have to call together a presentation for releasing the Mac Pro or have they just updated the website in the past?
 
The Mac Pro will NEVER be upgdraded. EVER.

In fact, all existing Mac Pros will spontaneously DOWNgrade themselves to 128k Apple ][e's w/ green screens tomorrow.

Later in the week, Apple will announce that will be ending production of all computers and will ONLY sell iPods from now on and ONLY in pink.
