Well here it is, the OFFICIAL word from Apple Store Manager on UTD Orders....
I called to check up on my UTD order placed on 6/18 and I first talked to a CSR that said due to this being a UTD order it will ship today. I then asked to speak to a manager. I spoke to him, and he was saying that there is confusion in the wording. All UTD orders will not receive theirs today due to two items:
1.) Our orders say ships BY 8/28... not DELIVERS on 8/28
2.) Because Apple is fulfilling their end of the UTD program by offering us a cheaper discounted version, and when we placed our orders for the program stated that Leopard would be shipping in September and therefore we would
be receiving our orders in September.
***FORGOT TO MENTION: He said that the UTD orders COULD NOT be cancelled and they COULD NOT be returned!!!! WTF!!!???***
He apologized repeatedly for the confusion and for the CSR's telling all of the UTD people that they would be receiving SL on 8/28, he then went on to offer a coupon for the online apple store, which I refused I just wanted my order that I placed and for my $2000 computer to be able to have the chance to run the most current OS when it is realeased like everyone else. I also stated that I hope that ALL OF THE UTD people that ordered and did not receive it bombard them with complaints and I hope they suffer severe public backlash for this. Bottom line is AN APPLE ORDER IS AN APPLE ORDER, and then at that we ordered first regardless of price, so why can they not ensure we have our SL OS in hand the same day it is available to the public. THIS PURE BAD BUSINESS IN EVERYASPECT. I encourage all UTD personnel call and flood customer service with complaints and force the hand of apple to make this right.
