My first iPhone was the 4s. I was going to get the 4 but, after the grip problems the 4 had, I waited for the 4s. Outside of the 12 and 13 mini, the 4s is my favorite phone of all time.
100% Agree.

Since I only bought my 13 Mini a few weeks ago, I already had no intention to "upgrade" to a 14…

I plan to keep my Mini as long as possible.

It is genuinely the little iPhone I was waiting for. The first iPhone since the 4S I enjoyed.

From the 6 onwards I hated the slippery soap bar design.

I bought a 13 Mini on launch day. As I have posted previously, it is my favorite of the 4 iPhones I have owned. I tend to keep my phones for 3 years, so I will probably have this phone until at least the fall of 2024. At that time, I will likely buy the smallest available iPhone. I had the 5.8" Xs before the 13 Mini, and that size was fine, although that phone was a bit heavier than I prefer after using the Mini for nearly a year. If the 5.4" screen is discontinued, I wish they would bring the 5.8" screen size back, it was a great compromise. But I could live with the 6.1" screen if necessary. I think the weight is even a bigger issue than the size for me. Lighter weight is one of the reasons I rejected an iPhone 13 Pro for an iPhone 13.

What will I do as a 13 mini owner? Absolutely nothing… gonna keep this for at least 3 more years. And if they stop making small phones I’ll just switch to using the 4.7” SE form factors. I already have a 2020 SE as a backup

I hope the mini is still there. I'm trying to downsize my electronics usage and getting a smaller phone I think would help with that. Less desire to mindlessly scroll.

I will miss the camera as I do use it often.

Well, I don't, I just don't see the value added to them anymore. Furthermore, the public has spoken and the Mini is on its way out.
Ok fair enough jav6454, but forget what the public think, What do you honestly think of the 12/13 Mini iphones? You got to admit they are amazing for what they do, smallest chassis with the largest possible screen and premium features, i mean they are unique in this sense, there is no other phone like them right?

I think they were a nice experiment to give people the option of getting a smaller form factor. Personally, I used for a day one and thought it makes a nice grip and I reminisced back to the olden days. Mind you this was a company phone.

They have their allure, but apparently that wasn't enough.

I don’t think the public has spoken on this at all… its the parasitic Wall Street element within Apple Corp that has spoken and perhaps their profit margins aren’t as much on the mini models and they are trying to force everyone into the tunnel of high profit devices… Apple needs to get back to letting the creative and innovative people run the show… those are the money makers for the company… they design and innovate what the people are buying… the Wall Street gang and mindset (profits, margins, schedules) don’t create anything meaningful for Apple…
Parasitic Wall Street? Are you joking? You do realize reports have come out stating that sales numbers for the Mini have been abysmal for the past generations.

Went from first gen SE (refurbished once and replaced with a second hand one another once or twice) to a 12 mini in purple last year, because there finally was a small(ish) size, then a 13 mini this May because there won't be a small 14.

Logically, a 14mini makes almost no sense if they're just re-using the A15 for the non PRO´s.
What the market really want to see in the mini is better battery life and they would likely need a new chip for that.

If they're fixed on killing the mini then hopefully it will come back as the next A16/A17 iPhone SE.

The 13 mini will be fine for the next 5-6 years, so no need to decide on an upgrade until then. I had an SE 2016 for five years.

Personally I think that Apple may still update the iPhone mini every couple of years, similar to how they do with the iPad mini.
5-6 years? Good luck. Not saying it won't last, but your inner nerd will overpower you should a new feature that's great to have comes along in only the bigger sizes.

Agree. I love the biggest screen but still think it's bull to put a feature only on the Max. I can see putting better features in the Pro line, but not just because of a screen size.

I’ve become pretty jaded, since the software and hardware industry does so little of what I’d really like. The main reason I didn’t stay longer with the SE 2016 actually turned out to be the better Bluetooth connectivity of the mini (longer range, mostly), which I didn’t want to give up after trying the mini for a while. But I still sigh with form factor nostalgia every time I get to hold a 5/SE in my hand, it’s just so lightweight and handy.

So, I can’t exclude the possibility of some compelling killer feature in the future, but it would take a lot for me to accept anything significantly bigger and heavier than the mini, as long as the mini is still supported by the software I use.

The public had nothing to do with it. Apple decides what we want, they always have. They make more profit selling the bigger more expensive phones, so their decision to stop making smaller phones was all about greed.

It's laughable how Apple designed the "Mini" as being mini, when it's way larger than the 3, 4 and 5 iPhones. The big phones that Apple keeps pushing larger and larger are ridiculous, they might as well put phone capabilities in their small iPads and be done with it.

I want a phone that is easy to hold, fits in my pocket and is affordable. Not some huge behemoth that cost's over $1,500!
