^^^ It's not my photo, but you really should ask first. It's copyrighted work.

It's just a desktop to you, but the author might not want folks using it without permission.

Just say'n.

Dale

i am yet to see anyone get in trouble for using a photo as their desktop wallpaper. private use is widely accepted - it's only when it's used for business purposes or in public that copyright permissions are generally sought.

Trying out a little backyard wildlife shooting. I can tell I would enjoy a 70-300mm if I want to do more of this.

Can anyone tell me what kind of bird that is? I have no clue.

Picture size

How do you guys upload larger size pictures, i mean how does your picture appear bigger than mine?

Please help!

Andy, I noticed that you were the author of all three of these posts. You need to look at my tutorial on using the multi quote button. The site Moderators want users to consolidate posts into one.

Thanks for joining in. Please post one photo per day. See the first post or use the link in my sig.

Hi, also. There are tutorials in the first post about using image hosting sites like Flikr. Check them out. The link ini my sig will help with that.

Yes Andy, you have some nice shots and if you want to show several of them at the same time don't hesitate to start a new thread where you can post however many you want during a day, and more than one per post. This "Photo of the Day" thread is for posting your chosen photo of the day.

To follow up on what Dale said about posting larger sizes, the way to do that is to link to a photo hosted on a photo hosting site like Flickr or Picasaweb albums or similar. (Photobucket.com, smugmug.com etc.) For this forum we're generally accepting photos up to 1024 pixels wide or tall on the long side, but they can be anything smaller as well.

To do this, click on the icon above the message that looks like a mountain (insert image) and then paste the url of the photo you want to link to. It will show up in the post that way with [ img ] tags. Try the "Preview Post" button to see how it looks before clicking "Submit Reply." Do read Dale's tutorials on this and if you have any other questions feel free to ask.
Cheers, and welcome. :)

Please accept my apology Dale. I didn't read the tutorial. I'll make sure next time i post just one picture. I was trying to post a bigger picture, and tried different times that's the reason i have many pictures. Sorry.

To the others thx for suggesting starting my own thread. I'll do that.

Cheers.

Eye (I)

Initial test shot, not impressed with it, INCREDIBLY hard to keep my eye in focus, moving less than a millimetre would put everything out of focus. Will attempt again today.
