I tried a 9 shot HDR today. I don't know what to think of it. I should have tried to photograph something else but something new under my belt I guess?

A part of me likes it although it feels unreal. How did you join the photos? Photoshop or something else?

If you spend much time in the Philippines, you'll notice pretty quickly that Filipino men are not shy about 'going' wherever they need to go. Consequently, you'll see this notice painted on walls everywhere, which translates to "don't pee here". Why anyone would care in this location I have no idea.

The arcade cabinet is so surreal. Nice photo! :)

Honeymoon Feet

Long Bay Beach, Antigua
I love this photo, and wish mine was technically as good.
Alas, the Caribbean "ate" my camera, so much of our honeymoon, including this shot, was recorded via throw-away tourist film cameras. Taken while in the hot-tub at the Catalonia Royal Tulum in Xpuha, (Rivierea Maya), Mexico. :D It's grainy and there are major lighting issues (steam, maybe?). But, can anyone tell me why the edge of the hot tub look like they are slanting to the right? (The Aperture straighten tool indicates this is straight!) Any other C&C always welcome and appreciated. Thank you!

Another gorgeous double-0 two! This one looks to be completely restored to original condition. Nice car.

What is about cars that makes some of us obsess over them?

A friend of mine owns that car. It isn't original, but it is exceptionally clean. He redid the interior with different front seats and reupholstered everything in cloth. The suspension has been tweaked too. I am pretty sure he stripped the car down to bare bones and rebuilt it, replacing worn parts as necessary. The car won a 1st place trophy in the classic class at the 2006 Bimmerfest.

Ron Perry from Newport Beach is the guy who does truly exquisite restorations. He specializes in mid-80's 5-series cars (E28).

Cars are beautiful examples of functional and kinetic art. And you don't need to go to a marina, airport, or gun range to enjoy them.

I love this! Could you please share how you did the lighting? Thank you! :)

Thanks :) It was the last shot for an engagement shoot and was actually done on the center console of our truck. With a flashlight and dslr. Aperture priority (in a hurry) and focused on the ring.

It's been cold and rainy the past couple of days here. I didn't want to get outside to take any pictures. So I stayed in my nice warm car instead. :)

ice coated hummingbird feeder.

That's awesome! I recently picked up a new hummingbird feeder. I hung it up today along with two other bird feeders (suet cake and seed) roughly 14 feet away from my window in my backyard. Can't wait for them to come out.
I saw 13 Junco's and one Winter Wren this afternoon all around the bird feeders. The Junco's didn't seem to interested in any of the feeders. Only the Wren came up to the suet cake twice. An hour apart from each other. Hopefully the birds will find the feeder instead of eating the seeds from the ground.

I have five dollars saved up towards my super lens. What should I get? 500mm f4 VR or 400mm f2.8 VR? The 400 is heavier and costs 300 dollars more. Along with some other features but the point is I got 5 bucks! Yay! lol

This beautiful 3.0 CS had 412,000 miles on the odo at the time of this show. I don't recall the exact year of this car, but they were officially imported to the US between 1970 and 1974.

Juncos are ground feeders and I don't think they will frequent your hanging seeds. I used to scatter seed under my feeder for the Juncos and kept the feeder full for the other seed birds.

As far as your lens savings goes, think about 500mm if you want a bird lens. My 120-400 Sigma just barely cuts it. Stick with the savings plan any you might have enough to cover the tax...

Mine for today. Another barn photo.
