Just a quick snap. There were giant flocks of birds flying all over our neighborhood for the past 20 minutes. Something wacky was goin on.

This is nice. How'd you get the stippled effect?
I like this one, too. I'd also like to know what you used to add the texture, or is that actual snow falling?

It was just the noise in the photo, if I remember correctly it was not snowing or at least not snowing that hard. The original image came out terrible and I had to edit it in photoshop and aperture.
It was a combination of increasing definition and sharpening the image and with a black and white filter on it, it looks like snow.
Ill upload another image tomorrow that has the same sort of effect but no black and white. Or you can look at my photostream on flickr its the photo just to the right of that one.

Today's is a home candid shot of my oldest daughter. I wasn't sure if I was going to use it, but I decided to go ahead anyway because I didn't feel like taking anything else.

fantastic! I took one look and for some reason, I thought, "that belongs in the Lord of the rings movies' awesome!

Dale usually takes it upon himself to be the forum police (a thankless job, but someone needs to do it...). Just wanted to gently remind you and others about forum etiquette when quoting previously posted images. Please use /timg when quoting images rather than /img. This puts a thumbnail of the original image in your reply rather than the full size image. You need to add the little "t" twice: once at the start of the quoted image and once at the end. If you are quoting another post, whenever you see "img" in your quoted text, just add a little "t" in front of it. Makes the mods happy :)

Let's hope the birds don't start falling out of the sky like they have done in several cities around the world! Here's my flock of bird picture from Shell Beach in CA this past September:
