w-e-a-k. The graphics department grabs a generic phone icon and everyone jumps to conclusions that this matches all the rumors.

I'm sure as hell I won't be buying one if it looks like that. Ugly as hell.

WOO FORM OVER FUNCTION. NEVER MIND THE MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS THAT WILL COME WITH THE DEVICE; THE DESIGN ISN'T UP TO MY STANDARDS AND I WILL STICK TO USING OUTDATED TECHNOLOGY AS IT LOOKS SLIGHTLY BETTER. WOO!

Looking at the two pictures compared, but a 3.7" screen (as rumored a few days ago) on the right image, and you should come up with about what is pictured in the left image.

Fingerprint Recognition Pad for NFC Payments

A wild guess is that the new home button is a fingerprint recognition area (or someday will be) for mobile payments. Saves entering a passcode, launching the payment app and entering a pin to authorize... it's really the only logical way to do mobile payments with any kind of ease.

Yes Apple... I'm available for hire if the price is right ;-)

I like this. Would be great if it stored all your passwords. I would take this over the LED light.

I'm really not liking this design. If it looks anything like the S2 Im not going to get the iPhone 5, I'm going for the 4. (Don't have an iPhone yet, Im on verizon and contract is up Sept. 19th.)

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Steve Jobs was livid about the shade of yellow in the second "o" in the Google icon on the iPhone. Pretty sure they're going to go out of their way to make sure their own pictures done in house are spotless! Pretty excited about this.

Apple already lost in Europe minus Germany.

No they didn't. The German court reversed their original ruling granting Apple's motion to enjoin Samsung from selling in the EU. The German court ruled that they didn't have jurisdiction to make a ruling that affected other countries in the EU.

If you're going to opine on legal rulings, understand the subtleties of the rulings.

i'd say the photo icon to the right is just as much of hint, its much more square than currents icons and would look good on a bigger screen.

That's a good point. If the screen is that large and the design is that squared off, the icons would look better with a sharper corner radius.

Anyone else get bothered by iPhone 5 concepts that have a larger bottom strip (where the home button is) than the top earpiece area? It looks so unbalanced.

Fingerprint rec would be the *****!

I agree with this. The icon definitely has less of a curve.

ipod touch anyone?

seriously? I'm sure most people have an ipod touch handy that is basically the exact form factor of every ipod touch, lets not get ahead of ourselves.

This actually does seem credible.

The icon clearly doesn't look like the current iPhone, nor does it look like current iPhone iconography that we have seen from Apple to date.

If anything it looks like a generic touchscreen phone icon, so the question is why would Apple use a generic icon instead of an iPhone icon since the photostream service only works with iPhones? The only reason could be is the designer was told to use a placeholder graphic in that spot, and if that's the case, then this is no evidence at all.

So basically, we really have no idea, except that this is an interesting leak.

Happy to see MR take this evidence more seriously. I was surprised when they first reported it and kinda dismissed it.

Apple is not lazy about anything in the presentation of their products. Especially icons. That's why I definitely think this is proof that the renderings of a larger screen and elongated home button are legit. I sure hope so.

I'm ok with a bigger screen, but I just don't want the phone its self to grow in size.

Agreed, one of the things I like most about the current iPhone's size is being able to use is completely one handed.

Also look at the difference of the amount of pixels, could this be because of the new "Retina" high definition displays Apple is planning to add on the new iMacs and MBP's?

BTW, this has been my favorite rumor thus far, looking forward for some more! :) Really hoping that's how the new iPhone is going to look!
