3D touch is a useless gimmick.
I've never used a Samsung phone have you?Switch to Samsung and have a happy life again?
I've never used a Samsung phone have you?
For you.
I personally find it extremely useful and a nice time saver when implemented correctly by the right apps.
After someone who uses Touch ID, u get used to something, so its understandable why a "future phone" which doesn't have it will cause issues...
However, i use Touch ID so i'l pass on the SE. Camera wise, would be good, but i don't use the current camera hardly anyway... so to me, i won't get any benifet...
3D Touch. A "flagship" feature I never use. I honestly forget my phone can do it. It's a feature we never knew we didn't need.
agreed, or just make it with same design as 7 and name it "7 mini"In my perfect Apple world, Apple would just offer the iPhone 6S in three sizes. They have become so erratic with names and product design in recent years that it actually annoys me.
Yes but the question is whether it's more important than all of those other features if you had to chose.
Newness doesn't matter. Every technology comes at a cost other than money. 3D Touch requires a special vibrator called Taptic Engine, which is quicker and much bigger. That's why the iPhone 6s actually has a smaller battery than the iPhone 6. While the iPhone SE will have a bigger battery than the iPhone 5s.
iPhone 6 ( 1810 mAh )
iPhone 6s ( 1715 mAh ) with 3D Touch
iPhone 5s ( 1570 mAh )
iPhone SE ( 1642 mAh ) without 3D Touch
You can't have everything, something has to give. Apple's job is to find the best compromise.
Yeah I agree this is an issue. Until close to 100% of phones have 3D Touch support, developers are pretty limited in how they can use it as they need to supply alternative interfaces in their applications for devices without it. This in turn may prevent core functions using 3D Touch and gives us the current scenario where the feature gets implemented as an afterthought and not as a primary more intuitive way to do things. The technology has far more potential than just triggering shortcuts to functions that were less than a second away using traditional methods anyway.
Sure, many people don't use 3D Touch now but I'd argue there's very few apps that offer any benefit to using it. If 95% of the phones on the market had it then developers can make more useful use of it and customers will likely use it more often.
Unfortunately shipping devices without 3D Touch will probably slow down the adoption by developers.
That said, developers and Apple probably still need to overcome the visibility difficulties associated with users not knowing where it when they can use force touch.
Really? Do folks say this anymore... it's not 2008 you know..My body is ready.
Lol lol lol is this the quote of the year.. more ram is a negative thing. . Brilliant ...Actually, RAM needs to be constantly refreshed so more RAM would hurt battery life.
I wonder what they could have done with it had they not submitted to the "flat UI design" fad. If iOS still had a more "3D" skeuomorphic UI like it used to, they could have designed UI elements that support peek to "protrude" a bit to show that it's available (perhaps including a push in animation if you use it). That would probably have been much more intuitive. The problem with the feature is that it's mystery meat navigation. I'd bet that less than 1% of iOS users use it.
