for whatever it's worth, I have not yet received that message. I have requested that my package be held for pickup at the CC.
I chose to have mine held at a customer center.

I called to verify the location and process and they stated tracking would be updated when it is ready to be picked up.
Are you able to change it to the CC for 16th?Yeah I screwed this one up. In previous years, I was able to get my packages delivered to a retail location and expect it the same day. However, I didn't realize until later that when I changed it, the new delivery date is September 19th. Lame. This was never the case before.

That still doesn't make sense, and i guess its variable on how far away the preferred UPS Store is away from the Main Hub/Distribution Center. I have a UPS Store right up the street which is probably about 20 miles away from the main location on the other side of town, but whenever I change packages to the UPS store right up the street from me, they still arrive the same day.
I have my shipment scheduled for me to pick up at the UPS central hub here in town instead of having it delivered to the house because it's signature required. So, hopefully by 10 AM or so I will have my hands on my new iPhone. I am not having mine sent to a UPS store, this is the actual UPS hub so hopefully everything works out fine and I can go get my package tomorrow

Yeah, I'm not saying the extra day makes sense. I'm just pointing out that in the case there's a weekend between the original delivery day and the "next day," and UPS is closed on weekends.
When I check my order page on Apple.com, there's an option to pre-sign for the delivery. I assume that would allow UPS to leave the phone with no signature required, since it's already been signed for. Does anyone else see that option?

Not in a million years. They know exactly what's in those boxes and the rules surrounding them, and the penalties for not following them.

I got this too... and I requested a location that is not my typical local Hub... so I had a panic attack wondering whether they would deliver to the normal hub first, then transfer from there to the location I requested, or if they would deliver to the local hub and hold it there for pickup.. or... something else. Called them... they couldn't really say... said to watch tracking and from there I'd be able to determine where it ended up. I think the closer it gets to destination, the logistics of making changes become overwhelming for them..I chose to have mine held at a customer center.

I've been picking up my apple products from my CC for many years now. This morning I used mobile version of the UPS site and selected the CC as the pick up location, but it somehow selected a local UPS store instead. I quickly corrected it on the regular website.
My concern is that I have yet to see that my hold for pick up request has been processed by UPS's system. Shouldn't the tracking page show that my request was accepted?
