for whatever it's worth, I have not yet received that message. I have requested that my package be held for pickup at the CC.
Hah - I just did get that delivery notice so I guess they even send those when a package is held for pickup
 
I chose to have mine held at a customer center.

My status lists:
Delivery Change Requested. Deliver to a UPS Retail Location - The driver will deliver your shipment to the UPS Retail Location you requested.

I called to verify the location and process and they stated tracking would be updated when it is ready to be picked up.

Yeah I screwed this one up. In previous years, I was able to get my packages delivered to a retail location and expect it the same day. However, I didn't realize until later that when I changed it, the new delivery date is September 19th. Lame. This was never the case before.

Are you able to change it to the CC for 16th?
 
And it looks like I can't change it back. Well, I only did it with one package before I caught the mistake so I should see my iPhone on friday, and my Apple watch on Monday unless I get lucky. At least this way the joy is spread out.

The nearest CC is very inconvenient to me and would take me an hour out of my way with Friday traffic.
 
I have my shipment scheduled for me to pick up at the UPS central hub here in town instead of having it delivered to the house because it's signature required. So, hopefully by 10 AM or so I will have my hands on my new iPhone. I am not having mine sent to a UPS store, this is the actual UPS hub so hopefully everything works out fine and I can go get my package tomorrow
 
That still doesn't make sense, and i guess its variable on how far away the preferred UPS Store is away from the Main Hub/Distribution Center. I have a UPS Store right up the street which is probably about 20 miles away from the main location on the other side of town, but whenever I change packages to the UPS store right up the street from me, they still arrive the same day.

Yeah, I'm not saying the extra day makes sense. I'm just pointing out that in the case there's a weekend between the original delivery day and the "next day," and UPS is closed on weekends.

I haven't actually looked but yes if you did sign for it ahead of time, that would mean that they would leave the package at your doorstep. If you choose that option however make sure you're at home or somebody can get it for you because sometimes there are thieves & scalpers that will follow UPS trucks and pick up their deliveries especially on iPhone launch days

Point taken. However, often for high priority items from Nike, Apple and other companies, UPS does in fact deliver on Saturdays. Tracking sometimes is not indicative of this either. Big companies pay a big premium to these delivery companies to make sure customers receive product quickly and swiftly.
 
I switched mine to deliver to my closest UPS store. Still have delivery date set for tomorrow 9/16. I hope that doesn't change. The status on UPS is "import scan" in Louisville, KY.
 
That's exactly how mine looks. The import scan at 9:30 though

Well apparently you don't need a delivery date when going to a CC. Called UPS and they told me its totally fine that there's no delivery date on my tracking and it should be there tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the info. I am going to avoid the rush and get there between 9 and 10.

I'm just wondering if it gets to the CC this evening, if I go and try to pick it up if they'll give it to me. Might be worth trying.
 
I screwed this up too - requested to pick up at a store and it pushed delivery back to 9/19. I called UPS and they said that I have to wait an hour and then I can cancel the change and have it delivered as normal tomorrow. Hoping that works.
 
I've been picking up my apple products from my CC for many years now. This morning I used mobile version of the UPS site and selected the CC as the pick up location, but it somehow selected a local UPS store instead. I quickly corrected it on the regular website.

My concern is that I have yet to see that my hold for pick up request has been processed by UPS's system. Shouldn't the tracking page show that my request was accepted?

I got this too... and I requested a location that is not my typical local Hub... so I had a panic attack wondering whether they would deliver to the normal hub first, then transfer from there to the location I requested, or if they would deliver to the local hub and hold it there for pickup.. or... something else. Called them... they couldn't really say... said to watch tracking and from there I'd be able to determine where it ended up. I think the closer it gets to destination, the logistics of making changes become overwhelming for them..

So I'm waiting to see where it's going to be held for pickup which will ultimately make the difference between Getting it tomorrow morning or Monday because I'm headed out of town this weekend.

It took about 15 minutes or so for mine to be updated
 
I changed mine again to hold for pickup at a customer center. That date said 9/16. It's still marked as "requested" in UPS my choice, but if that goes live any time today I'll be fine to go pick it up at lunch tomorrow.
 
Is picking up from the UPS distribution reliable and what time can you pick up, my delivery window is around 6:30pm?
