pod2G's untethered jailbreak released

I'm on the iPhone 4 and the jailbreak went really smooth for me. The only downside I'm noticing is my battery life is brutal. It's drained by about 40% after 3 hours of light use. Too bad...
That's not normal. There are certainly some tweaks in Cydia that will kill your battery, like no lockscreen kills mine at about that rate.. but the standard jailbreak by itself does not use any more battery than your phone did before the breaking. Check your apps!~
I don't have anything on my phone now that I didn't have on my phone before. I actually have fewer tweaks/apps now then I did before.
Ibooks is not working for me... says configuration error..
this is a problem with the configuration of our iPad. please restore with iTunes or redownload ibooks..
i did redownload it and it is still having the same error.
hmm no jailbreak for me yet..

I haven't jb'd yet but remember reading an iBooks issue. I went back and found what I read for you.

Yo guys to fix iBooks just Boot tethered over the untether. It will not do anything to the untether (if phone dies will reboot fine and work) and iBooks will work until the next reboot. Those guys really need to fix it permanently tho.

Bunch of retards...way to discourage people who likely do this in their free time without getting paid or paid very much. If I were them I'd consider saying F You and not do anymore work or just keep it to themselves.
I would imagine that pod2g is too smart to read the comments and is well aware of the idiots out there....the idiots are always the loudest minority of any group, but they are so loud, the can seem like the majority
While I agree that these people are completely ignorant and unappreciative, my guess is pod2g ended up receiving some (much deserved) substantial compensation for his work. I donated €10, and I'd like to think that (at least) thousands of others did the same. Btw, he'll get another €10 out of me when the A5 is released.

It seems that you may need an attitude adjustment. Those are not your devs; they don't work for you or any of us. They do it voluntarily. What were you thinking when you posted the above? Just be grateful that sooner or later they will have the JB for A5 ready to deploy, to stop those who love to complain about everything.

You should see the replies to pod2g's blog! A lot of haters there; it looks like a Worker's Union on strike or an angry mob demanding what they believe belongs to them.
Most are complaining that the post is boring and that all they care is their A5 JB. Idiots!
I say let those A5 folks wait an extra 3 months till they learn to be more polite
Better yet, have it available, but not for those complaining and demanding it as if it was their right to get it. Have them beg for it.
I'm sure there a lots of other people who have been waiting patiently for it; they do deserve to get it when it's ready.

restored and re-ran the jailbreak and it worked fine. It's weird though the first time i did the jailbreak, it froze and i got a temperature warning saying the phone needed to cool down. I tried to re-run redsn0w after that but cydia didn't install. Just FYI if anyone else has this problem to just restore and try again.
Comex tweeted that apple is now fighting installous.. Had a feeling that would come sooner or later

I used the jailbreak on my iphone 3GS ios 5.01 and then installed 3G Unrestrictor, my iphone then showed no signal on 3G. I had already backed up on itunes so I did a full reset and then reinstalled the jailbreak redsn0w_win_0.9.10b3. The jailbreak didn't work but for some reason 3 of the apps I installed before or still installed and still work but there is no cydia icon. I have also done a seach and cydia isn't installed.
Can anyone advise me what to do, I've tried reinstalling the jailbreak again but get the same result.

While that's great news, is he meant to be telling the community what his new employer are planning?
Installous gives jb a bad name. However I would more like to see Apple recognise the iToy user's right to customize the user experience.
