Had a small problem with MYWI, when I used USB tethering and disconnected the cable I lost my internet in the phone and had to restart to get it work again.

I installed as recommended the new Corona from Cydia over my redsn0w jailbreak and all is fine now (you have to restart one time to activate the corona).

All in all I'd have to say that Pod2g really did well. Other than the crashy servers and a couple of isolated bugs, most of us seem to have experienced great freedom and release from our older OS or from our OS 5 tethers! I'm happy as a pig in the mud and everything is completely stable.

Winterboard still has issues..... unresolved since original iOS 5 update.

Just jailbroke my phone and the only things I've re-installed so far are LockInfo and SBSettings/Activator and I'm already happy as can be! :D

It is not for the weaK. And my notification center beat up your honor roll kid.:p:cool:

Could U please name all the tweaks u have installed for your notification screen.

The flash light. Search from notification centre. App switcher.. And even changing the colour.

I could easily spend hours trying to get the right thing. Instead, I could just ask u and purchase the app. :)

Thanks

Man, Im still confused about all the stuff and steps neccesary to downgrade in the future. I did a custom ipsw with redsnow and tiny umbrella blobs and seems ok, but now I need to do another one with my preserved baseband?

Can someone tell me exactly what I need to be safe in the future when apple stops signing 5.0.1? My main concern is being able to keep restoring to 5.0.1. I dont care about downgrading too much. I just want to be able to restore to 5.0.1 whenever 5.1 and 5.2 are released.

Thanks!

I would advice u to make a custom firmware with ifaith. I guess readable does the same. But it's better to be safe than sorry later on..

Just search ifaith and u will find plenty of articles on that..

I only need TetherMe because the carriers here suck balls.

Is it possible to install it without installing Cydia?

Like a manual install via one of those iPhoneViewer/Cyberduck type apps?

Thanks

Still can't get iBooks to work. New to this and don't know where to find the iBooks fix or insanely thing. Any guidance is appreciated.

I sent you a private message, as not to stray off topic too far..:)

Lordy there is a whole recent thread on this: here4!

I was on 4.1 until 2 days ago when I made the jump to 5.0.1 (preserved baseband 1.59.00), also upgraded my ipad 1 to the latest and greatest.

I had error 21 and 1600 issues through itunes on my mac, had to move to my work pc to get things cleared for both the ipad and iphone.

Funny I had to do the exact opposite!
But if anyone is getting the 1600 errors, just click extras on redsnow and do the pwned DFU, and then try again. It should work for you.
I upgraded the GF's iP4 from 4.1 to 5.0.1 preserving the 1.59 baseband on AT&T.

Is this jailbreak worth doing? I'm skimming through the comments here and from the looks of it, it sounds like a ton of people are experiencing problems. I don't know if this is a common occurrence for every jailbreak so I don't if it's worth it or not. It sounds like this particular iOS5 one is a pain.

those "problems" are mostly from inexperienced members who are struggling to jailbreak their phone and don't know all of the steps involved.

Just go for it.
I can tell by your username the JB will go flawlessly - Just Do It bro :)

Laggy? It's probably winterboard ... I have this setup on my bros iPhone and it's fine ...

The guy is just messing with everybody. Don't listen to him... He's just frustrated he doesn't have jailbreak for his 4S... Sorry pal! You'll have to wait... um... till 2013!!

oh snap. I'm on 5.0 tethered and I'm doing this jailbreak right now. Will see what happens... Can't do the OTA Delta update to 5.0.1 in Settings. The update fails. :(
EDIT: redsn0w 0.9.10b3 just did a tethered jailbreak. Luckily nothing changed on my iPod.

You have to realize that if something is going right, most people won't bother to post about it. But if it's going wrong, people will post to either find solutions to fix it or just to whine and complain about it.

Personally I have had no issues with this or any other jailbreak for that matter. The jailbreak itself was utterly painless and surprisingly quick and since getting my phone setup the way I want, there's no lag or other issues at all.

Love the new iOS, love intelliscreenX (bought it). I think these guys deserve a lot of credit and should get some donations for their time, its clear this stuff takes a lot of work.

Are either of you having to troubleshoot the iBooks, single signal bar, MMS, and VV issues?
