Is your iPhone 6 / 6S bent? (Public Poll)

  • Total voters

Makes me laugh.

Sums up MacRumors and this whole bending issue. Not one photo as proof. Lol.

It's a simple poll, and I think it's reasonable to expect that those "Yes" voters demonstrate by showing a pic.

I voted yes and I don't have a 6 or 6+.

This poll is biased unless you require proof for both options. Otherwise anyone can vote 'no' without even owning the phone to pad the results.

I am a fanboy to no corporation, brand, or phone OS. I just love gadgets. My 5S is my main phone right now, just so you know.

And trust me, for my one invalid "yes" vote there are at least 20 invalid "no" votes to help protect their precious corporation. Why aren't you angry at them?

All we ask is picture proof which no one is providing

No, all you ask...

You, a person who is spending an inordinate amount of time on the web, in front of a device acting like some authority on the issue. I think this is a simple design oversight in that the real outcome in the bigger picture will take weeks if not months to be fully realized. The reason for that is that this is a structural thing in that all the nuances in how people use their phones will play a *huge* role in how that plays out and how long it takes.

I also think both phones have the potential to bend at the weak points due to the design, the 6+ more than the 6 for obvious reasons.

That being said, I ordered the 6 yesterday. I am aware that this pone will require more care than previous ones, I hope moderate precautions and common sense will see me avoiding any mishaps.

I now have stopped asking pictures, because its really not needed. the poll is at 7% with 2 wrong votes. right now, its quite insignificant. My daughter was playing with the phone for more than an hour without me knowing, it didnt bent, i would have thought it would if I thought like you but It didnt. Its perfectly fine. I am not falling for chaos because only a few people have been affected. If and when it starts to affect a realistic amount of people around say 30% of users by month end when many people would have used their phones a lot, then I would be concerned too but right now I am not and you should not be too.

Take a time out on this and go enrich your daughter's life by having her engage with you, a human being...not a device. Then, after about 2-3 weeks, a lot more people will have used the phones within the constructs of their daily lives and we will all have a really good idea of what this issue looks like...

Just a suggestion.

Well, I guess it was the ultimate test, if your daughter played with the phone and it didn't bend, then it clearly won't bend into a grown man's pocket when sitting down; thanks for all the hard work, it's great to see a true scientific approach to the problem

Guess what? All phones have the potential to bend. Try bending any smartphone these days, they all can bend if you try to. My Kindle bends too, but do you see people screaming and cry over it? No. Why? Because people are not trying to bend the Kindle. If you don't try to bend the iPhone 6 it won't bend. This ordeal is beyond the point of stupid.

25 people selected bent phone but nobody could provide the proof except one.

Yes, that's because society cares more about drama than the truth. Whatever fuels their empty need in life is what they want to believe.

They won't generate millions of clicks by any "gate" issues on Kindle fire or anything else because nobody would even care. We know this now, it's the same story every time an Apple product comes out.

I should have clarified that the 6 and 6+ could be more prone to bending forces due to lack of any interior bracing or trussing, being thinner over a larger area and having a round edge design over a stronger box walled design. If you deal with metal and plastics in a structural sense like I do as a peripheral part of my line of work, well anyone will readily understand this.

It's structural common sense, not necessarily a design flaw but a daily use consideration....

I'm more concerned with iOS8 actually being usable by the time I get my phone sometime the middle of next month.

I just voted yes, but I'm at work and don't have any way to take a pic. Three of my corners sit flat against a surface, but one corner sticks up slightly. It's not much, but it's enough to move the phone up and down. I've never had it in any of my pockets, only in my purse or work bag. I also have had it in the Apple leather case since walking out of the store with it. Not sure how I bent it but I'm not too concerned about it. This is a 6+.

Maybe a dumb question, but is it doing this sitting screen side up or down? Because the protruding camera lens will naturally cause some wobble if it's screen side up...

NO...my iPhone 6 wasn't bent out of the box (neither was anybody else's), nor is it bent after almost a week of daily use, and being placed in my pocket 12-15 hours a day!

YES...this is the stupidest witchhunt ever.

I got the regular iPhone 6 on launch day, and it's been in an Apple silicone case since I got it. I put it in my front pocket like the 4 and 5 I had before, and didn't do anything unusual.

I checked it last night, and it's slightly bent towards the screen. So I guess a #reversebendgate. :D

It's very slightly bent, less than a mm, but noticeable when I put the screen on a flat surface. It flexes when I press in the middle, same as the following video:
