Anyone else see this? Of course. I'm dead center New York. Crossing my fingers for FedEx :)

Temporary Service Impacts Due to Papal Visit
Security measures will be in place in areas of Washington, D.C., New York City, and Philadelphia as Pope Francis visits the United States September 22-27, 2015. UPS is implementing contingency plans to minimize service impacts.

During the visit, no pickups and deliveries will be available in some ZIP codes. The days when service will be impacted are:

• Washington, D.C.: Tuesday, September 22, through Thursday, September 24. (Only limited areas of ZIP codes will be impacted, depending upon street closures.)

• New York City: Thursday and Friday, September 24-25

• Philadelphia: Friday and Saturday, September 25-26

Track your packages at ups.com. Continue to check here for the latest information on service impacts.

Wow, so NYC is affected after all. Guess we stop for the Pope.

Luckily, I'm in Brooklyn and my zip isn't affected.

Apple shipping on Sunday night Monday by GROUND not overnight as originally stated. Product should be at destinations hopefully by Thursday unless they ship early. We'll.know for sure over the weekend

It'll be awkward as hell if the iPhone deliveries get delayed yet the Pope is able to get one. But whatev, I'm a native Texan. So I'm just chillin

Wouldn't it be awesome if he stopped in at the flagship store in NY and picked one up? Imagine the PR on that lol

The Pope sometimes does that in Rome, early last week he went to an optician to buy new glasses and he had only a small group of body guards.
He never paid a visit to an Apple Store though :)

As it happens worldwide a lot of people will gather around the Pope during his public appearances so I'm afraid you'll experience problems with traffic and also deliveries.

They can't stop the mail. A lot of people rely on it especially businesses.
Oh yes they can, the Postal Service will stop delivering in certain Philly zips from 1pm Friday until Tuesday. Ugh.

And dang it, why WhY WHY does our iPhone launch have to collide with Po-pocalypse? lol

I work in the same building as MSG employees (where the pope will be visiting) yet my zip code "isn't affected". We'll see what happens.

The UN general assembly is also in session that week and Friday has major events. So it's a double whammy. NYers in midtown east will need to have tremendous patience. It'll be arriving late if it arrives at all.

I seriously doubt but can only hope they try to deliver Saturday since they weren't able to deliver as promised on Friday. But again, this is just wishful thinking.

My hope is that they realize how many people have ordered from NY and deliver on Thursday. Okay, it's more wishful thinking than hoping, but it would be nice (if it's even possible). Granted, I'm in Brooklyn, like a couple of you seem to be, so I won't be affected by this. And the good thing is I get to work from home since the Pope will be screwing up all Manhattan traffic. Hooray!

Apparently Macy's Herald Square is closed on Friday for security/traffic/tourist reasons. I'm hoping my company closes too. I'm okay with waiting until Monday for my phone if I get the day off ;)

I would bet Apple is going deliver your phones early because they know about the pope visit. But you won't be able to activate them until the 25th.
