Portenzo iPad 2 Case: Now a Smart Cover

Not for me.
I got a charge from ROOCASE for the cost of my Portenzo order on my statement and my credit card billing cycle has closed. So I guess I'll have to pay my cc statement and hope the case shows up and I won't get charged again when the case ships.

Did fall in love with the look of this case, ordered it, but, the past few days, I've loved using my iPad 2 naked. Now I'm not sure what to do.
Time to go to an alternative?
I think I will continue to wait, but I don't want to wait much longer. I hate that my precious new iPad 2 is naked right now. Sometimes I think the Pad & Quill Octavo might not be a bad alternative.

I like that for $60 it has a real leather cover, and supports the smart cover unlocking when opening (though not magna-grip). I also like the $10 optional pocket (I'd use it to store a microfiber cloth).
I don't like that the camera opening isn't protected from dust, no option to not have a camera opening, and the strap doesn't cover the camera. Also the color options are fairly limited.

They're not bad.. At least it shows the different color options WITH the ipad2 IN them. Hopefully portenzo starts shipping soon because I'm trying to wait to see user pix upon receiving and their reviews..Scared tho that if I wait too long, I'll be waiting, FOREVER!
I will buy it only when the case is out and someone posts some pics of the case. I ordered FrappeDesign case and it arrived today and i dont like it at all.
The epitome of forum hype. Buying sight unseen with clear fulfillment and manufacturing issues.
Ok followed this thread. Ordered the Portenzo case and the Dodocase and last night the Octavo case. Will evaluate each one then sell the others on eBay. The reviews for the Octavo case were good from what I could see. Emailed Portenzo this week no reply. No problem waiting. Thanks to everyone in the thread.
Thet Aren't crooks. You guys really need to take chill pills. This is. Small startup not a large conglomerate. They are making hand crafted stuff not mass produced crap.
Umm... not exactly. It's bonded leather. That's only sort of leather. It's leather fibers bonded to some other material. Definitely not the same thing as an actual animal hide. Not as durable and is only an approximation in feel. It wears very quickly with lots of handling.
What is wrong with the Frappedesign case? Could you post pics? I was debating on ordering it for work, but not if it's a let down. Thanks.
Interested in your opinion on the Octavo. Seems like most people claim that its thicker/heavier than the Portenzo.
It's pretty ironic that someone calls something "forum hype" on a forum insinuating that us purchasers did no other research when a simple google search shows that it's far from just forum hype.

So looks like I will wait on that. For now I picked up the Targus 360 Rotating stand/Case from BestBuy because I need something. Hopefully word of the Portenzo I want comes soon and I can return the Targus.

Got my back protected today with a BSE back skin. Using as smart cover and sleeve. So I have time now to wait. Maybe I went overboard on this. This is my first iPad and I really enjoy it. So I will just wait for my Dodocase, Portenzo, and Octavo to come in. By the way I did research on the Octavo and the reviews were good. We will see.
All I know, is I preordered AND I need my case before April 8th-ish because I'm moving to Alaska for a couple months to help my sister with my nephew because her husband is deploying to Kandahar, and my case is of no use if its shipped to NJ and I've left already.
I got an email from Darin, 3 weeks?? I canceled my order. That is too long to wait. Especially since I have already waited a full week. I am just buying a yoobao. I liked the one I had for my original ipad and I don't have to wait forever to get it.
Same here...all I want is to get it before I leave for Asia at the end of April...20 hour plane flight goes much faster with a rocked out Portenzo encased ipad
